This was my first time ever going to the hospital (Broken Ankle) and the staff and nurses were so very sweet and made sure I was as comfortable as they could get me. The Surgon and Physical Therapist both came in and explained everything well and in details. Hospital visits are never fun but I'd like to say this was the best it could've gone! If I break something again (I hope I don't LOL) I'll be coming back! If you're a kind person to your nurses, they're kind back 10 fold. Being a good person is not hard!

My Dad had surgery on October 28th there and I have NEVER seen such amazing care. The amount of compassion and attention not only to him but to me as his daughter was absolutely outstanding. I just want to say "Thank you so much, you all are a group of wonderful people!" To the Security staff, admitting, pre op nurses, anesthesiologists, surgeons, physical therapist, interns, and nurses who cared for him once he got out of surgery and to his room, you are top notch.

Let me start off by saying, Dr. Yeager was a god send with being an on-call OBGYN to deliver my daughter and provide the care i needed when i gave birth to my daughter. Now for the bad. The night nurses, were EXTREMELY discriminating towards me. Immediately i was accused of being a drug user due to the fact i had "insufficient prenatal care". they put both me and my NEWBORN daughter through several unneccesary drug testing hours after she was born and hours into my recovery. Even went so far as to call CPS on me and open an investigation that was also a waste of time. I have never used a single drug in my entire life, but because i had nappy hair, a crooked smile and arms covered in tattoos, i was an automatic drug user. i get it, youre mandated reporters, but myself and my husband both stressed i was not a user. my room smelt heavily of amonia and musty mold, my gown wasnt even clean, stained with what i hoped was bbq sauce fromt he cafeteria. it took 5 tries for them to put an IV in, blew out my veins in both arms several times before giving up and sticking my hand, loosely, mind you. i said no to being pushed pitocin to speed up my labor, the nurses ignored me and pushed it anyway. 8 hours of writhing in pain before i could be given an epidural, a night nurse decided to dose me with a sedative so i would "shut up and go to sleep" is what my husband overheard from the nurses station. the "golden hour" with my newborn was cut short to only 5 minutes as they stripped my daughter from my arms to run tests and whatever other bs they wanted on her. had the audacity to tell my husband he couldnt do skin-to-skin with his own child bc it was "just wrong" 3 days later, comes the day im to be discharged. at 9am, i was told discharge papers were drawn up and we were ready to go. packed up, had baby ready in her carseat, had my car sitting in out front for pick up. 6 hours went by, and i am still sitting in my room waiting for discharge papers and babys monitor to be deactivated so we can leave. It took an entire hour of pestering and bugging for the papers to finally be delivered to me and be sent home. And we have asked every hour after being told we were good to go btw, only to be ignored or told "it should be any minute now" cannot and WILL NOT EVER use this hospital or any affiliation with it for any kind of care. the attitude and standard of care is APPALLING! TMF would never shut me up bc my crying was 'annoying'.

My son used this hospital because his insurance is in network with the doctors at this site. So make a long story short, my son is paralyzed from the chest down. And we were hospitalized due a UTI he had. So Dr. Brown, the ER doctor was so thorough and compassionate toward my family. So he admitted my son. So we make it to our room and you know you will have some good nurses and some bad. So as time went on, we got placed on 4WC. And Dr. Castro was our Dr. for the time in the hospital on this floor. He was another compassionate doctor who treated you like it was his family. Then he was off work and they sent in another doctor and his name Dr. Russell. He came into my son room like he was so concerned about patients well being. Well this doctor needs to shipped out and replaced by a caring and loving doctor like the others. He was so rude and harsh to my family it almost made me cry. He is one inconsiderate, and arrogant doctors I have ever seen on this staff. Replace Dr. Russell and give him some Diversity classes on how to respect families and know this isn't about him with numbers. And I will not tell a friend about UTETMC.
