David Kuten grew up in Houston and completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Texas at Austin in the Plan II Honors Program. After receiving his medical degree at Baylor College of Medicine, he completed an Internal Medicine residency at Johns Hopkins Hospital. He returned to Houston for a fellowship in Cardiovascular Diseases and Interventional Cardiology at The Texas Heart Institute, where he was given the Tauber Award for Outstanding Cardiology Fellow. Dr Kuten's clinical interests include all aspects of noninvasive and interventional cardiology. He has particular expertise in coronary interventions and the endovascular treatment of peripheral vascular disease, on which topics he has co-authored numerous publications.

Dr. David Kuten has a special gift of treating all of his patients with kindness, and a caring very few doctors achieve. He has studied for many years and puts into practice all this wisdom to give his patients the best care possible. He spoke Spanish to my husband to make him feel more comfortable, and he appreciated this greatly. He gave me some good suggestions to lower my cholesterol. He is one of the best doctors I know.
