St. Luke's Health - Sugar Land Hospital - Sugar Land, TX

The Emergency Room care was excellent. After the ER care, I was admitted to the hospital. The room was clean and tidy and facilities were very good. The nurse staff and the support staff took excellent care of my needs. The attending physicians explained everything and I was able to get my blood transfusion with satisfaction and helpful support. At discharge time, I was given detailed information and instructions for follow up. The hospital staff called me at home also to ask about my welfare. I am so thankful to st.Lukes for excellent care.

I came and they are with abdominal and back pain and the staff from the front office to the nurses and doctor all very caring and attentive. Dr. Y. Alford ran test and scans and just really was diligent about trying to find out what was wrong with me, not at all dismissive, but more Understanding. Even the nurse that put the IV in She did it so flawlessly that throughout the night.I even forgot I had it in. Although going to the ER is never fun. This I would definitely recommend if you have to go. This is definitely the place to be.

I fell and hurt my foot and the pain was unbearable so I went to the ER to make sure it wasn't broken or fractured. The check in was good and fast...went through the blood pressure and temperature....proceeded to the back...spoke with nurse and doctor. Was asked my pain level...a 10! No I didn't want pain meds I told her, just wanted to know if it was broken or not. Then a few minutes later got a few xrays. He was very nice and made me feel comfortable. After that, I waited at least 2 hours no one came to check on me...2 more hours passed...I ring the bell for the nurse...she's says no one has been in here? Nope, I responded. Then a few minutes later the dr comes in saying everything was fine and I should see the swelling gone in a few days. I COULDN'T STAND UP ON IT AND WALK! They had to push me in a wheelchair to my car...no wrap or boot...they didn't offer...I am very disappointed with this visit hopefully I won't have to go back!

Unfamiliar with the standards at St. Luke's but seen enough around TMC to form an impression that this place is unable to communicate with patients' representatives with a view towards offering unambiguous information on the reasons for the delays in serving non-life threatening patients. The responses are not evasive but rather lacking in details. "When will the room be ready?" "Soon." But that was nearly 12 hours ago. There must be a valid reason but then why not reassure the patient's representative with a simple explanation. Also, the staff is very casual about not keeping the room tidy. Saw a patient seeking assistance for a trip to the restroom. Despite alerting the front desk, I didn't see anyone step forward for nearly ten minutes.

I have come into the hospital through the ER three times. Each time wait time was very short and getting me settled and seen by a Doctor was very quick. I was treated professionally and with great empathy for my conditions . I would never hesitate to come back for ER treatment and highly recommend St Luke's Sugarland.
