My recent experience with this rheumatology provider was extremely disappointing, especially given the seriousness of the symptoms that brought me in. I want to be fair and acknowledge that his bedside manner and demeanor were initially great. However, the undertone of his comments became dismissive--especially after he noticed one of the medications I am taking. From that point forward, the interaction felt biased, and I did not feel taken seriously.
During the appointment, it felt as though labs were ordered just to order them rather than out of genuine concern for my condition. The documentation placed in my chart afterward was also inaccurate--listing exam components that were never performed and marking certain findings as "normal" even though he verbally stated otherwise.
I was told I would receive a call with my results within three business days. Instead, the communication that followed was disorganized and frustrating:
* By the fourth day after my appointment, I was told the provider was not available, even though my results were already visible to me.
* I then spent the entire weekend feeling sick, anxious, and without any guidance.
* On the fifth business day after my appointment, I notified the nurse that I was unwell. Rather than asking about my symptoms or attempting any form of triage, I was simply told the doctor was "very busy" and would call me back.
* By the sixth day after my appointment, I was informed that the provider had taken on two other patient loads and was scheduled to be out for an extended period--meaning he never reviewed my results at all.
My concerns are straightforward:
* Why wasn't my health taken seriously when I reported I was feeling sick?
* Why tell a patient to expect a call within three business days if you know you will not be available?
* Why dismiss legitimate symptoms during the appointment?
* And why, after nearly a week, had the provider still not addressed my abnormal labs? Not only address them, but he hasn't even REVIEWED THEM!
I am now left anxious, sick, and without direction, despite placing trust in a specialist who promised follow-up but did not provide it. This level of inconsistency and lack of urgency is unacceptable in rheumatology or any specialty care.

Always have your audio recorder on any doctor. Don't trust the cardiologist to do the right thing or you will die. Staff is RUDE except his tech. He had been there for 7 years, he is so nice.

I'm writing this review on Dr A. Vala office. I am formally a patient and Thankful for Dr Vala bedside manors and caring way with me so I am forever grateful for his professionalism and caring way!
Fast forward I am a medical power of attorney for an elderly man that's 71 years old,no family and double amputee with Dementia and short term memory loss from a heat stoke 2 years ago.
He injured his right arm and just needed a follow-up appointment with an orthopedic doctor. I booked an appointment on their online system for today Friday at 11am.
I received a call Tuesday morning from his incompetent receptionist that doesn't inform you of everything. I miss his former receptionist she was wondering and informed you of everything and very professional and competent!
Back to the present receptionist, she informed me that Dr Vala has no appointment today that she has a Wednesday or Monday opening. I took Wednesday for Carl .He lives in a nursing home and I had to arrange transportation through them so I did. I get a call late evening saying can Carl come in a hour early for xrays ,I told her I just changed the transportation request from Friday to Wednesday and why did you not tell me this morning? I told you I had to arrange transportation. I can't change it again. At this time she also should have informed me of his co payment of $35 but she didn't.
Carl is on SSI and don't get paid until 30th.
I asked when check in could I come back and pay the $35 co payment on 30th and I was told that it would be Dr Vala decision.
Dr Vala said,no! Shame on you Dr Vala! That's okay I will follow up with another doctor. I will also find another doctor too.
Train your receptionist better....

Clean place and efficient service for the most part. If you know your symptoms clearly, you can be in and out of the clinic with the right remedies or medication fairly quickly, but sometimes appointments go overtime and you'll have to wait. Their lab tests are usually done efficiently and results come in an orderly time.
