Patient
The only reason I am giving 1 star is because the girl at the front desk and the nurse were nice. My Mom was seen here today by NP Patel after a fall at work. She had x-rays completed for her shoulder and knee. When he came in to tell us what the x-rays showed, he described the injury as "oh, it's not bad, not concerning." He did say that she had a fracture in her upper arm, but never described what type of fracture. I stopped him and asked him to please explain....is the bone completely fractured, is this a hairline fracture, etc. He continued on and said this was a hairline fracture in the middle of her upper arm. He said that he was releasing her to return to work today, with the restriction of no use of the right arm. She would need to return to this same office NEXT Wednesday for a follow-up. We received her paperwork and I took her home. She was still in a lot of pain, so I gave her pain medication when I got her home. Once she was settled, my Dad and I went to get her vehicle from work. When we returned, she said that NP Patel had called to tell her that he was ordering a CT for her shoulder. This was about 4 hours after she had been seen in the office. My first mistake was not looking through her discharge paperwork before we left the office. His mistake was downplaying what the actual x-ray report said. My Mom actually has 2 fractures in her arm, one being a displaced fracture. After reading the report, it 100% explains why her pain is where it is, and why her pain is at the level that it is. I am beyond angry!! This was reported to her job with the understanding that my Mom will not be going back to this office. Lucky for us, my Mom has a great job where they actually care about their staff. They will be getting her set up with a doctor outside of this office for her follow-up care. I understand that this was a workers comp injury, but that is not an excuse to downplay her care. I'm not sure how any of the other providers are at this office, but I would not recommend being seen by NP Patel.
