Patient
I was initially referred to Dr. Gresham by another physician. I have been a loyal patient of Dr. Gresham for 3 years. On June 5th I was scheduled for my annual test which was setup a year in advance. When I arrived to the appointment I was greeted by a very rude receptionist named Melanie who informed me that I did not have an appointment and that no appointments were scheduled for June. I was also told that Dr. Gresham was out of the country and I would need to see the doctor prior to doing any testing. When I tried to explain that this is annual test that I do first that is reoccurring and I only see either the doctor and PA after the test is done. I was told rudely I was wrong. I went on further to ask if I was even a patient of Dr. Gresham since my appointment no longer existed and they had no record of my appointment ever existing. I was told yes I was a patient. I asked if I could have my medical records since Dr. Gresham only sent out a letter in March/April that he was retiring and would be out of the country for the month of June. I was also told there are 7,000 patients and I would need to be on a waiting list in order to get my medical records. I was completely blindsided by Dr. Gresham and his office personnel. I am now working with another specialist to get a referral to another cardiologist with the hope I can get in this year. Dr. Gresham clearly no longer cares about his patients since annual tests have been canceled that would not even require his involvement, and have no effect on whether he's in the country or not. I went today to pick up my records and showed the same reception my appointment card that proved I did have appointment on June 5th. I was not surprised when she still claimed I didn't have an appointment even when I had proof that I could show her. When my medical records were handed to me, mine and other patients records were just sitting on the floor and not even in a filing cabinet. I guess HIPPA doesn't apply when someone is retiring. It's a good thing Dr. Gresham is retiring . Best of luck to any other current patients of Dr. Gresham's.
