Patient
My mom was brought in the CHI St Luke's in the Woodlands after being admitted into their branch here in Huntsville because she was actively having a heart attack... all day. When we left Huntsville via ambulance, we were told that they had a Dr. lined up ready to see her. When we got there, there wasn't a cardiologist ready to see her but that they were trying to reach the Dr. on call. (De La Guardia). 3-5 hours went by and they finally had to move her to ICU because her condition was worsening. They informed us they were having trouble reaching the on call Dr. and that they were going to page him again. They paged him again and informed us that one of the nurses has talked to him and he said he was on his way. They paged him 3 times and he never came. How can you not respond to a page for someone having a heart attack when you are a cardiologist? When we were in ICU, Dr. Gary Coleman came and we were told he wasn't the one on call but he was going to help her. He placed her stint and saved my moms life. As for De La Guardia, I hope he never is absent for a patient who is having heart problems, because to anyone, that should be a priority matter. Otherwise it's their life in their hands, from their absence.
