Dr. Asif Akhtar, MD

Dr Akhtar is a very warmthful, human being. I will come with worries and get out happy and calm. I always pick up a book to read in every visit I made there. Very nice staff, and I always feel home. I will recommend him to everyone who needs a Dr beyond the physical aspect only.

Me and my husband visited Doctor Asif office today and he is such a nice doctor very polite very humble and he listen to us very politely and gives all the answers of my questions .Highly recommended

Dr Ahktar is phenomenal, thorough, knowledgeable, and competent. Unfortunately, office staff aside, he does not monitor INR, which concludes our relationship with him. Too bad his office staff is a primary example of folks who didn't complete a primary education or further an education, folks. It's like talking to a child. I had high hopes because this physician came highly recommended from several different sources. I also had to reschedule once or twice due to other conflicts. I had asked if paperwork had to be filled out because my sister and I tag team with Dad's appointments and health care. Since Dad lives with me, I usually handle all initial paperwork and also provide her with current information when she takes him for subsequent visits. I was informed, quite emphatically, there wasn't anything. I'd asked if they needed anything prior to the appointment or if there was anything I needed to fill out. I'd been told no. EVEN AFTER I told them about a review that specifically mentioned they were able to have the paperwork electronically sent to them to be completed for the appointment. The caller said it was an incorrect review because they don't send anything out. How impossible is it to email me BLANK FORMS to be completed in my leisure prior to an office visit. ANYONE who works in a medical setting should know first appointments - in this case, a transfer of care, due to a residential move - is tough - Especially when the previous cardiologist snd staff is beloved. Patients' ages can also indicate the support person at a visit may not know all if the information. VERIZON Cellular has 1 bar here. No open is available. Almost all of Dad's information is online, in the cloud, or only accessible through the net. IT WAS HELL TRYING TO GET EVEN HIS MEDICATION LIST for the paperwork! SEVERAL PAGES OF THE PAPERWORK IS STILL REQUESTING YOUR SOCIAL SECURITY NUMBER. NO INSURANCE ASKS FOR THIS ANYMORE. INCOMPETENCE AT ITS BEST. Since we're here, I'll let them do whatever tests they want to do.

I made an appointment to Interventional Cardiology Associates, and Dr. Akhtar answered all my questions, took necessary test/exams, and gave me sound advice to maintain a healthy heart. African American women are leading statistics for heart diseases that can very easily go unnoticed. While I'm happy to be proactive and and take the right steps for my health, I am also comforted that I chose the right Professional, Dr. Ahktar, to advise me about my heart's health levels. The staff was phenomenal as well!

Horrible experience with this office. Made an appointment and had PCP send records for appointment. Completed paperwork online in advance. Arrived Dec 16th with my husband for appointment and front desk girl tells us the appointment was cancelled. Claims to have called us, which was not true. They had the wrong area code for our telephone number, never attempted the secondary telephone, or email address to reach us. Claimed our Insurance had not been paid beyond Nov 30th, yet our Insurance company confirmed we were paid through the last day of January. Refused to call the insurance company to confirm, refused to allow us to pay out of pocket for visit. Absolute rudest medical office we have ever experienced. We called our insurance company, explained our experience, and filed a grievance with the insurance company regarding this doctor's office. No clue if that attitude extends to all personnel since we weren't allowed to speak with anyone else, but would never recommend this to anyone needing a cardiologist.
