For over ten years, Cindy at White Settlement Family Practice has been outstanding--kind, direct, and highly knowledgeable, always researching when needed. She and her staff treat everyone like family in a clean, organized office, and Cindy will do her best to squeeze me in when I need an appointment right away.. I highly recommend her.

DO NOT RECOMMEND. This office says it has a medical doctor but he is a ghost. Only the nurse practitioner sees patients. In a year and half, my medication was never correct ... there was some kind of problem every time they refilled my meds ... amount, refill number, missing, never sent to pharmacy, etc, etc. They said they sent text messages and emails of appointments that I never received. They said they scheduled appointments that I was never made aware of. Cindy Atwell cancelled my prescriptions without notifying me and put me in a bind when I needed a refill. When I needed help, they didn't care. DO NOT RECOMMEND.

I have never been so disrespected at a doctor's appointment than I was today. I would like to start off by saying that the nurses/techs/receptionists were all so sweet and amazing. The same cannot be said for Dr. Atwell. I started the appointment by starting to list off my symptoms to one of Dr. Atwell's staff members, but I was not able to give her my full list because she had me do labs first. I was under the impression that the staff would be back in to get the rest of my symptoms, but the next person I saw was Dr. Atwell. She came into the appointment and already seemed very on edge and agitated. I have a degree in psychology and have worked in a healthcare setting, and I fully understand how stressful and fast paced it can be. However, she seemed to not want to hear a single thing I said. She would not let me get a word in while continuing to talk over me and raise her voice over mine to cut me off. Once I could finally tell her that she did not have my full range of symptoms, she said "why didn't you tell the nurse this?" in the most condescending tone. I tried to explain that I did not get the chance to before having to do labwork, but she barely let me finish that sentence before cutting me off again. She told me that they were running another test and someone else would be in to do the test and take my symptoms.
While I appreciate the testing, if she had let me speak for a little longer, she would have known that I had the same tests done 5 days before from an ER visit and had already given her staff the paperwork with the results to enter into their system. I have been dealing with a multitude of symptoms, most of which are very physically taxing and often-times debilitating, but the only thing she seemed to hear was "anxiety". I saw her for maybe 6 minutes (max) while I was there for an hour and a half and ended up leaving in tears after feeling completely dismissed and disrespected. I always go to the doctor with the fear of being labeled as a hypochondriac or as someone looking for prescriptions, but I not once asked for medication while I was there.
I left with 4 prescriptions, 1 of which I had an adverse affect to the last time she prescribed it (she didn't even tell me that she was prescribing it again). The other prescriptions were for anxiety and one for pain (which I also did not ask for). The only thing I can give her credit for was her offering a referral for an MRI and specialist. I will take it with a grain of salt though, because she said she would set me up for an MRI at my last appointment, but I was never contacted and could not reach anyone when I would call. Long story short, my experience with Dr. Atwell was very degrading and dismissive. I came in with the hope of having some answers and having someone validate my concerns. Instead, I was told that I have anxiety, which is something I've known for at least a decade, and I left with prescriptions that I did not ask for.
