Do not go to this office. They almost killed me, and I am now out of the woods yet. I have a known bleeding disorder that this office was made aware of prior to the procedure. Prior to my procedure, I had a follow-up ultrasound and follow-up PA appointment. The doctor recommended I leave the ultrasound appointment but cancel the follow-up with the PA that was scheduled so we could try to get my other leg in right away and then I would have one follow-up for both legs. Their sole concern was getting approval to do my second leg as fast as possible from my insurance. To put things in perspective, I had my procedure on October 16. I had to follow up ultrasound on October 18th. The doctor signed off on the ultrasound on October 23rd and at that time, it showed that I had multiple blood clots in my leg where the procedure was performed. I was not notified of the blood clots until November 22nd, almost a full month to the day that the doctor signed off on my ultrasound, failed to let me know I had blood clots, and let me walk around with blood clots with no notification of a complication. Because of their failure to notify me of a complication, I had time to get more blood clots and have them travel much further up my leg, past my knee. They should have have notified me promptly when the clots first occurred instead of sitting on that information for a month. Because I didn't know I had blood clots, I got on an airplane. It even had to be diverted for weather so I was even in the air more times than I should have been - while I had blood clots and more forming because of the negligence of this office. I called a couple of times begging to get in sooner since the PA follow-up got bumped back to try to get the second procedure in quickly. I told them that I could feel constant bleeds into my calf and ankle. It is now 2.5-3 months after my procedure and I still have blood clots because of the month that I didn't know I had them and they got worse. My doctor is trying to balance preventing a pulmonary embolism without having me hemorrhage to death because of the negligence of this office. If I die, it will be at the hands of this office. I will be more than happy to attach pictures of what this has done to me. I had days where my foot was purple because of all the bleeding I had going on because this office absolutely failed me as a patient. I now have spontaneous bleeds that have occurred all over my body because I had to stop the medicine for my bleeding disorder to try to get rid of these blood clots. It is not worth risking your life to go to this practice because they will probably sit on results if any complication arises and discount you when you try to get in early because you know something is wrong. They didn't even have the decency to give me an emergency ultrasound to see if anything happened in that month. Their idea of getting me in stat after sitting on blood clots for a month was on November 22nd telling me they couldn't get me in until January, even though by the time of the follow-up appointment I had been walking around with clots for a month and they had gotten more numerous and worse because they didn't adequately follow up with me as a patient that I had a complication so it was allowed to get worse. I'm serious when I say this: if you see my obituary in the local paper anytime soon, it's because of this office and their medical negligence. They sat on the fact that I had a complication for a month because their priority was getting the next service in as quick as possible. When the complication arose, not only did they ignore it, they said they had no clue what to do with it and just kind of sent me on my way. Thank goodness I have a doctor managing this because if I left it up to Dr. Shami's office, I just would have been out of luck not knowing that the blood clots got so much worse because they sat on this information for a month.

If I could add more stars I would! This doctors visit was absolutely wonderful. The appointment was scheduled at 1430, we got there at 1330 to fill out the paperwork and be ready. They called my mom in so fast she was not even half way through filling up the paperwork. Everybody that was there at work made it such a great experience for my mother. They were polite, smiling, and good listeners. Dr. Shami was amazing with my mother. He was straight to the point but also empathetic. I am so happy we chose him as my mothers cardiologist.
