Patient Reviews

Patient

The worst experience today with my mother of 89 years old, he didn't let me wait with her inside the consultation room, somebody needs to be with her all the time and I'm not letting her stay for 2 or 3 hours alone, he said it was his rules and we have to follow them, I'm not sorry for run away ASAP. Absolutely not recommended. The girl in charge didn't know anything about the cardiac monitor receiver that is not working and she said that the doctor was busy and that we can go with another cardiologist. We already made an appointment with someone profesional.

My Experience with Dr. Dim (Cardiologist) Unfortunately, my experience with Dr. Dim has been very disappointing. I began seeing him about a year ago due to chest pain. He diagnosed me with pericarditis, supposedly caused by COVID, even though it had been a long time since I had the virus. Although I found that strange, I trusted his judgment and followed the prescribed treatment, which caused me significant side effects. Later on, I returned with more severe chest pain, and he diagnosed me with arrhythmia. He strongly recommended a procedure called electro-evaluation -- an invasive and expensive catheter procedure with electricity -- insisting that it was necessary and urgent. Despite the financial strain, I went through with the procedure, but I never experienced real improvement. A year later, I remain under treatment with no meaningful progress. He later told me again that I had pericarditis and prescribed Colchicine, which has caused me harsh side effects and no relief. To make matters worse, the conditions in his office are unacceptable: wait times regularly exceed four to five hours -- I've waited from 1 p.m. until late at night -- and during the summer, the waiting room has no air conditioning despite extreme temperatures over 103degF. I eventually sought a second opinion, and my new cardiologist told me that I likely never needed the electro-evaluation procedure. In his words, Dr. Dean tends to perform this procedure on many patients unnecessarily. When I tried to obtain my medical records, I was told it would take four to six weeks and cost $50 per page. I also brought in a letter from my gastroenterologist for Dr. Dim to sign, which required an additional $50 fee. I waited over an hour and a half in the office without receiving the letter. Eventually, I was told to come back a week later. I requested a refund, but the receptionist said she didn't know how to process it and that the doctor was busy in a legal deposition. I'm sharing this review to help other patients make informed decisions. In my opinion, Dr. Dim shows a serious lack of empathy and professionalism, prioritizing money before patients.

Oh my.! My mother's visits there were long wait times. As you know by reading other reviews. She went there for almost two years. It just got too frustrating for her and myself. Took at least six months for him to transfer my mother's paperwork to other doctors. I wrote him a letter, called and went to office a few times to request paperwork. I gave him the new doctor's name n address. Had UMC nurses requesting information as well for possible upcoming procedure. Nothing happened for at least six months. Until that is, when new heart doctor called his office to complain. Finally!!!. He tries to do everything himself. Office staff cant seem to be able to help either without him being present. I can only imagine how tough it is for them to hear all the patients complaints. So as you sit in his office for several hours reading these reviews take heed. Know before you go. We extremely happy with new doctor.

If I could give him half a star, I would! My dad's appointment's are ao long and he is a diabetic. Sometimes he has to miss lunch just to wait there. It's already frustrating enough for the long wait, but him charging for every type of paperwork you need done.

What a shame to have a colleague like this in our community. First of all the front staff is non communicative and truly lack knowledge regarding practice management. Wait times are unfathomable. To obtain results they have patients come in alone and refer to a "policy" they can't seem to actually produce a copy of. Patients you have the right as consumers to request your family to be present at your consultation if you wish for them to be present for your results period. This renders for speculation that this physician runs a practice that takes advantage of our patients with low health literacy to perform unnecessary procedures for compensation at the physicians disclosure. Once the patient is seen then the physician calls you on a phone and answers all the questions you have however by that time you have waited over 4 hours. He also mentioned that after a procedure he is not the kind of doctor to come and speak to his patients family not unless something went terribly wrong. On communicating with him he presents a front of knowledge that is thickly laced with a profound self love for his years of practice not demonstrating any compassion nor change in attitude revealing that he actually doesn't care for his patients. I end with this: Patients be your own advocates for your health! Learn about your disease process and demand more for you!! And El Paso let's do better than this!
