Dr. Hema L. Korlakunta, MD

My husband and I have been faithful patients of Dr. Korlakunta for 10 years. She is one of the most knowledgeable cardiologist we've ever seen. Her bedside manner and caring attitude is excellent. Her office staff is always friendly and willing to help.

Dr K is a very personable dr and works so well with my mother in law.

The statement "People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care" certainly applies to Dr. Korlakunta and her team. We moved to Denton in August 2022 and I needed to find a new cardiologist. Through our interaction with our primary care doctor and ophthalmologist, we heard of Dr. K's practice. I got a referral, made the initial appointment and from the start, I was impressed. She & her staff are certainly knowledgeable and professional but along with that, their caring makes the experience enjoyable. They want to get to know the patients as individuals and tailor the experience to each patient. All questions are answered by Dr. Korlakunta and her team, and I felt comfortable asking them as well. I just had an angiogram and before deciding on it, Dr. Korlakunta made sure I understood the reason for her recommendation and making sure I understood and addressed all my concerns. Her team is no less caring when it comes to working with scheduling, explaining the billing process, etc. They keep you informed of any changes. All of this made me feel valued and welcomed and from seeing and hearing other patients in the office, I was confident I made the right decision in choosing her practice. The experience was reassuring and rewarding! My thanks to Dr. Korlakunta and her entire team!!!

After having briefly met Dr. K at Medical City, I had my first office appt with her today. Office staff are pleasant, friendly, and professional. Dr. K. took her time with me and reviewed my past history and current meds and interventions, She even suggested a study that my former cardiologist never did. I left her office feeling very satisfied and hopeful for a better future.

Think twice before selecting this doctor. She assumes that a patient understands the complex language of health care which results in miscommunication and eventually lack of trust. A lack of trust in her care should be enough to seek another provider. She and her staff are insensitive and condesending towards those who do not comprehend 'medical jargon'. She lacks the simple ability to offer care and compassion when her patients need it most.
