Medical City Children's Congenital Heart Surgery

Medical City Children's Heart Surgery was beyond my best expectations for my foster daughter's heart surgery. Given a choice between Medical City and another major, more well known hospital, I chose Medical City because of location (it is just minutes from my work and I still had to work during some of her stay). Although I have had wonderful experiences at the "other" hospital, I am beyond pleased with deciding on Medical City! Everyone (and I mean every single one) went above and beyond to make a difficult time as bearable and pleasant as they could. Dr. G is an amazing human being on top of being a phenomenal surgeon. We love her and her whole office. It is evident that my sweet foster baby was more than just another patient. We could not have chosen anything better for her!

Dr. G and her team are amazing. We traveled from TN to TX for my son's heart repair, and the experience was even better than expected. Dr. G is truly one of a kind and I am so grateful for everything she and her team did to repair my sons vsd. If your child has CHD and needs care, go here.

Dr Mendeloff is the best pedi cardiothoracic surgeon!! He works magic in the OR and he truly cares about his patients. He is also a kind and "down to earth" Doctor. He (or Leslie) always kept us informed and explained everything to us very clearly. His CHSU unit is second to none - the care and attention we got from all the nurses was amazing. I cannot say enough positive things about our experience. My son needed a rather complicated open-heart procedure and we interviewed a couple of doctors in town. When we met Dr Mendeloff, my wife and I were extremely impressed with him. At the end of the meeting he said "thank you for entrusting me with your child - I will take good care of him," we could tell he meant it and he proved to be true to his word. Thank you Dr Mendeloff and the amazing CHSC team!

My son was only four weeks old when Dr, Mendeloff did open heart surgery on my son Avishai. He placed a pulmonary valve in his heart. I will never forget coming into my son's room at St. Louis Children's Hospital, seeing him sitting in a chair watching my boy as he slept. Avishai, is 15 years old now. Amazing doctor !!!!!

The level of care you get here is 2nd to none. There is a wave of comfort I feel when I bring my daughter in to be attended to by the team here at Medical City CICU. So thankful for Dr. G and the incredible staff here for being there for us during the most difficult time in our lives. The nurses and doctors truly are a gift from God at Medical City Children's.
