Dr. Bonnie Floyd is a very nice person with a warm bedside manner. She greets patients with a smile and often offers hugs, but unfortunately, being nice isn't enough when you're dealing with serious, ongoing cardiac care.
She was extremely hands-off when it came to managing my Warfarin, which is a critical medication for someone like me with a mechanical heart valve. She offloaded that responsibility to her nurse practitioners, like Linda and Amber, who, to their credit, were excellent while they were there. But she also seems to have a very serious staff turnover problem.
Once someone got familiar with my case, they'd leave, and the next person would be completely clueless about my medical history. Because Dr. Floyd herself didn't stay involved or even seem to know what I was taking, the rest of the office operated in the dark. I had to explain and re-explain my medication and INR needs constantly, which is frustrating and risky for a condition that requires careful, consistent monitoring.
If you're just seeing her once a year for a routine check-up and you're not on any critical medications, she might be a fine option. But if you've had major surgery, like open-heart surgery, a valve replacement, or a pacemaker and need a cardiologist who actively manages your care, I would not recommend her. In my experience, she was not interested in being involved at that level, and that made my situation unnecessarily stressful.
Honestly, Dr Floyd seems pretty checked out overall. I wouldn't be surprised if she's getting ready to retire. And for a cardiologist to essentially hold hostage a life-saving medication while also failing to ensure anyone else in her office was equipped to handle it, is, in my opinion, absolutely deplorable. That's why I had no choice but to move on, and so did my sister and my father, both of whom were long time patients, but experienced many of the same issues.

Dr Floyd seems to be kind and knowledgeable. My senior mother is her patient. However, do not ask Veronica the office assistant how long the appointment will be or point out that you have been waiting for 2 hours and have another appointment time, that you have to leave in an hour. She will call you rude in front to another patient. I approached her after (we were the only people left in the waiting room at this point) and asked if she needed to talk to me, she said "no" and when I said I'm sorry if I'm rude but I was worried and needed to check. She said "did I say your name and call you rude?" I said no but you said rude and looked pointedly at me. She said "oh I looked at you?! Please sit down. Are you even the patient?. ". Mind you I never raised my voice or acted agitated just asked when my mother would get to see the doctor. Apparently that was not acceptable. Unfortunate experience and totally uncalled for.

Office staff is getting worse! It was one of many frustrating experience with the office staff, Yvette!!! It's stressful, especially given the importance of your pacemaker checkup. It's disappointing when long-standing relationships with healthcare providers are affected by communication issues and unprofessional behavior from staff. Yvette's behavior is not only unprofessional but also dismissive of my legitimate concerns.
I asked to speak to Dr. Floyd directly to express my concerns but she asked for my call back number lol! It was extremely rude of Yvette to use the words and I quote, "are you dogging me right now" when I asked why her office called yesterday at 4pm and why they couldn't call last week!! Instead of answering my question, she puts me on hold because I can hear the hold music playing on the phone...she comes back and there was this akward silence and she's not saying anything!! I said, "hello" and she answered by saying that she is the only person working at the office and she called when she could! I am so frustrated with the communication when she knew the urgency of my pacemaker checkup are completely valid. They could have just called me earlier or my doctor directly.
I have not been able to connect with Dr Floyd to explain what happed directly or the details of my experience today! Everyone deserves to feel respected and cared for in a healthcare setting. Very sad! After 14yrs! Never ever missed my appts! If it wasn't for Dr Floyd, I would've left 4years ago! I know her nurse quit over a year ago. I may need to reconsider going back after today. Seems like this office cares more about money than patients health. Truly sad! I will update after Dr Floyd returns my call.

I was nervous on my first visit there. The staff was awesome and Dr Floyd was the best.
She was very sensitive to what I'd experienced, elsewhere, but when I asked her to 'shoot straight' with me, that's exactly what she did and I knew I was where I needed to be. She took me off medicine, I'd been taking for yrs, from a different cardiologist, that never made me feel any better. She explained what I was on and why it wasn't doing much for me.
The entire staff and Dr Floyd are very thorough and professional. She fixed me right up and on my next visit, I felt 100% better. This was a few yrs ago, and I haven't had any issues since! She knows her stuff! They are just simply the best!!! Hate that I wasted so much time, before finding her. Probably still wouldn't have, if the other Dr hadn't retired. Thank goodness he did!

From my first phone call to the appointment, everything ran like a well-oiled machine. Office staff answered phones personally, could tell me what to expect at appointment, and understood insurance. Appointments were running on time when I got there. Dr. Floyd is very caring, decisive, and explains things in a concise way. I feel well cared for here.
