The Dr himself is very nice and very kind. The Medical Assistant is also very nice and very kind. The reason I am giving a 1 star is because the assistant at the front desk is putting people's health in danger. I saw the Dr. after referral and he changed my medication from one that was working pretty well, but causing swelling. He also put me on a heart monitor for 3 weeks. A few days later, I get a call from the front desk assistant calling to tell me that she figured out that they don't take my insurance. She tells that I can either self pay or be SOL. I asked her if she thought this was appropriate because I would effectively be in limbo and in treatment with nowhere else they can refer me to go. She not only further condescended me, but attempted to berate me for having questions. Particularly when I asked to speak to the DR. directly. She told me she's the one who gives out all the information and there was no manager or chance of speaking to the Dr. Fast forward weeks later, I end up in the ER in a hypersensitive crisis because the medication they gave me is not working for me and there's no one to talk to about it. There has to be a better way to handle people who are at the most vulnerable moments other than just another billable service. I really hope that that front desk assistant sees this and sees how her nonchalant and rude attitude can really cost someone their health. If you can't talk to people with kindness and treat them with decency, the medical field is not for you.
