Patient
Dr. Mark P. Teng, Cardiologist, is terrible, dismissive, does not care. Our mother was transferred via ambulance to Dr. Teng from another hospital for chest pain and extremely high blood pressure. Dr. Teng did NOT evaluate my mother before telling us that 'It isn't her heart that is causing these problems because the bloodwork is fine and shows no sign of heart attack'. He did NOT review the records from the prior hospital before talking with us. If he did review the records afterwards he did NOT tell us his opinions. He told her to double her blood pressure medication and follow up with her PCP. He did NOT ask if she tracked her blood pressure readings, which she does. Had he done that he would have realized that her blood pressure is all over the place and doubling the medication would have been very dangerous. A nurse practitioner came later and actually had a conversation with us. At that time she determined that she did NOT need to double the medication but to follow certain parameters with her readings. Rude, curt, no empathy.
