This is the first time I ever felt like I needed to make a review on anything. Doctor James Yhip had the worst attitude. He raised his voice at us for not bringing my grandpa's medicine for his appointment. Had we know we would have. They need to learn how to keep their attitudes in check when people didn't do anything to them.

Dr. Ray is horrible! His bedside manner is lacking in every way possible.
He isn't my cardiologist but admitted me into the hospital. I saw him all of 2 times. The only way I knew the results to test results was through the hospital portal.
I had 100% blockage in my right femoral artery and he said I could lose my leg so I asked when it would get fixed and his response was, "It'll get fixed in the office"
So i asked, then why are you holding me in this hospital, not allowing me to leave, because everything you're doing could be done as out patient? I got no response from him at all. I was given medication that I didn't want, such as fentanyl, given meds that I wasn't even sure why I was getting them because I never got a direct answer from this doctor. I ask very direct questions and got very vague answers. I walked out of that hospital. I feel like he was keeping me there for the money factor because he said everything could be fixed in his office, which wasn't going to happen considering he isn't even my cardiologist!! He was my cardiologist in 2016, but as of 2019 I changed to a better cardiologist that is very direct, honest and upfront with everything and listens to his patients.
Before I left the hospital, I contacted my cardiologist and he immediately set me up for a heart cath in the hospital instead of a very uncomfortable office setting. My insurance company approved everything on the same day that my cardiologist submitted it.
My right leg was blocked with blood clots and plaque according to my cardiologist and something that should not have been put off. So, for Dr. Ray to put off something this important and to be very vague and assuming he was my cardiologist was wrong and Out of line on so many levels!
But he did have his office send me a letter letting me know he would not longer be my cardiologist since I left the hospital against his advice, which is funny considering he wasn't even my cardiologist to begin with!
I would never recommend Dr. Ray to anyone. Run! He is stent happy and after so many stents, you aren't even a candidate for bypass surgery. Horrible cardiologist!

I had a vein procedure on my left and right left. Dr ray told me I wouldn't have any problems with my leg's. I didn't have any problems before procedure. He told me he did a vein test. My veins are bad. I started not to let him do the procedure. After the procedure my left leg is bothering me. After he did the vein procedure Dr. Ray said I will not have a problem with my leg's no swelling no problems. I've been call his office to tell them my left leg is bothering me. His nurse told me to go to emergency hospital. I went emergency hospital to get checked for blood clot. I went to Dr Ray for a follow up visit. He said what's going on with me to take Tylenol it will go away. 2 weeks after that visit I am still paining. I called his office his nurse told him I am still in pain. He said take Tylenol every 5 hour's for the pain. Tylenol is not working. I called his office no respond back. He is a slick Dr. With a attitude I believe he is not fund of african Americans. If he was any good he would have told me come back in office let's see what's going on.

I do not recommend Dr Ray. My stepdad was having dizziness and falling issues after he had 2 stents in his carotid arteries. After 2 hospital admissions with Dr Ray doing nothing and not even showing up to the hospital but prescribing medicine to increase his BP and then lower his BP we decided it was time for a new Dr. we contacted a new cardiologist and within 2 weeks he failed his stress test and ordered a heart cath. His RCA was 99% blocked I believe Dr Rays lack of proper care for my stepdad and our family changing doctors because of his lack of proper care and ordering tests that should have been performed/ordered saved my stepdad's life!!!
Thanks for nothing Dr Ray!!

I have been seeing Dr Ray for going on 10 years. I absolutely love him. He is caring, extremely knowledgeable and shows true concern for my cardiac issues. I would highly recommend Dr Ray to anyone seeking/needing/wanting a cardiologist. He is hands down the best in the Amarillo region.
