Dr. Tolbert has been great. He listens, answer questions, and has been excellent to work with. Not to mention he discovered my blockages and probably saved my life, so there's that too!

Reality is that any cardiologist can put you on a statin or see a blockage on a scan or from other test results...but that doesn't make him a really good doctor. Since my family history of heart disease is so severe, I read and explore what I can find on the subject. I was spoiled by the care I received for the last 20 years on the west coast by a very well known and very accomplished cardiologist who is at the forefront of the latest research and drug studies. I have only seen Dr. Tolbert twice over the course of one year...and I have to say that I am shocked by his lack of knowledge about the latest studies, even regarding a drug that he prescribes regularly. When I asked him about new research garnering attention nationwide, he said he was a busy man. One has to be progressive about their own health these days as insurance doesn't pay doctors well for regular visits and most, like Dr. Tolbert, don't want to spend much time unless it means expensive procedures and ongoing care. I prefer to avoid that scenario, and will pivot to a cardiologist that is not stuck in the 90's offering no more advice than statins and angioplasty! Heart disease is a vicious killer and if you don't get proactive on your own, this is not a doctor that I believe will help you avoid a cruel fate!

I've met Dr. Tolbert twice but I liked the way he talked to me, not at me. He remained calm about the situation, which in turn, calmed me down. The MA's are very kind, professional and funny and so is the front staff. The way they all greet people helps an anxious person, such as myself, who doesn't like coming to the Doctor's office.
