Sumeet Sharma, MD

Dr. Sharma is unprofessional, would ask my daughter a question and would not give her time to respond. He was more interested in telling us what to do rather than listening to her or our concerns. He has already made decisions about her diagnosis or lack there of, before examining her. It doesn't matter if he is a good doctor or not if our daughter doesn't trust him to listen to her symptoms and concerns. Dismissed us and corrected our language inappropriately. Did not speak to us, spoke at or down to us. Asked him to slow down speaking and he made an excuse and continued on with no change

If it were at all possible to leave a negative star review I would! I will never have my child see him again! In my opinion he didn't care at all. When we tried to tell him her symptoms he would interrupt and not listen to us at all. What he "diagnosed" our daughter with doesn't align with her symptoms. Then before leaving he looked at us and says "we found something abnormal on her echo she has four leaflets in her aortic valve instead of the normal three, bring her back in two years" He never told us what this is, how it happened or offer any advice, just told us it wasn't a big deal because her heart is functioning normally and it wouldn't cause the symptoms she's having. We strongly believe something more deeper and something serious is going on and we needed someone to fully evaluate her and offer help. He instead made us feel foolish and acted as though we just wanted to visit a cardiologist for the day. I'll never take her back! I will find a different doctor, one who is caring. Dr Sharma is nothing but a rude, uncaring, unkind individual who doesn't listen. I'm hopeful everyone else has a better experience than we did, and actually gets the care and attention all kids deserve when seeing a cardiologist!

If I could give zero stars I would. Dr. Sharma should not be working in pediatrics and that is coming from my 11 year old. He is rude, condescending, and very dismissive. We will be finding another cardiologist.

Dr Sharma has been with us since the birth of my daughter and has always been caring, honest, and informative. She loves when she gets to see him and he always answers any questions I have thoroughly. He's really the best!

We had our first interaction with him while I was still pregnant and we had a fetal echo done. We were told our son had a heart defect and he would need surgery shortly after birth. When my son was born he was sent to the nicu for 6 days. The entire 6 days we were chasing the cardiologists around being told they would see us today, tomorrow, after lunch you name it. Finally someone we had never met came and explained that my baby was fine which obviously was confusing. We were discharged confused. We went for a second opinion at Vanderbilt and thank goodness we did. My baby was admitted that day and needed a coarctation repair. We also found out about 2 other defects Dr Sharma had never told us about. Do not go to him unless you'd like to put your baby's health at risk.
