The best experience we have had in 16 years at a cardiologist! Office staff is friendly and office is not crowded. Brooke and Dr Madhok are very personable and extremely knowledgeable. Brooke sat down with my son and fully explained his heart condition to him in a way that makes sense to a 16 year old. No cardiologist has ever done that. I was super impressed by her. Dr Madhok came in and explained to me why we need yearly evaluations going forward and what we are monitoring. It was so nice to have a cardiologist go over the echo results with me right there in person. We came from Asheville cardiology because my son needed a physical to play sports. At Asheville cardiology for clearance they started off with the office visit and an ekg. Then a holter monitor. Then an echo. Then a stress test. All scheduled with months in between. My son missed basketball and tennis season over it. The cost of the testing with our insurance went into the thousands. $9900 to be exact which is the entire cost of our deductible. We decided to look at independent pediatric cardiologists in the area and am so glad we did. We had an appointment and same day ekg and echo. No stress test needed based on the echo because these providers actually recommended testing based on the results of other testing. Not just blanket testing. We went with the self pay option and it was worth every penny and was a fraction of the cost of what ACA charged us. My son will be going here for yearly evaluations until he ages out! So happy there are still independent practitioners out there!
