Richard Gibson, M.D. is a board-certified family medicine and sports medicine physician specializing in the evaluation and non-operative treatment of orthopaedic injuries. He completed his fellowship training at American Sports Medicine Institute, founded by the world-renowned sports medicine specialist Dr. James Andrews, in Birmingham, Alabama. Dr. Gibson specializes in the evaluation and treatment of concussions and related injuries. Throughout his training, he has served as team physician for multiple high school and college athletics departments, including providing coverage for Troy University, Samford University, Birmingham-Southern University and the SEC baseball tournament.

Dr Gibson listened intently to my symptoms and explained what the symptoms told him and gave us a plan for treatment. He was everything I needed at that moment and I appreciated his patience and care. Also kudos to the nurse. She was excellent and even though I had to get a shot she did a great job.

This was my first visit to Franklin Bone and Joint and to Dr Gibson. I was treated well. I did not have to wait long out in the waiting area or in the little office. Dr. Gibson did a very good job pin pointing my problem, setting up a followup MRI and giving me my options based on his review. It was a very good investment of my 4 hours driving and 1.5 hours in the clinic. I'm satisfied. Dr. Gibson is good.
