Patient Reviews

Patient

Well I'm going to start off by saying that this 1 star review is specifically for the actual provider, Dr Austin. Everyone else in the office was super nice especially the nurses. Anyway, I'm not one to leave any reviews but I felt I needed to because my experience was unacceptable. I understand that I'm young and it looked weird that I had so many ER visits this year but that's no excuse to just completely dismiss me. As soon as Dr Austin came into the room, I felt rushed. He was trying to get out of there as soon as possible. He asked me about my symptoms then asked if I had ever worn a heart monitor before. He then proceeded to discuss having me wear a monitor for a week which I was totally ok with. Then things went more downhill. I mentioned another symptom that I had been having and instead of trying to explain to me what the cause could be, this is what he said. "Well with someone your age that's been to the hospital as many times as you have this year, not saying you're crazy, but you would think that with all the doctors you've seen, that someone would've found something by now." When someone says, "not saying you're crazy, but...", everyone knows they are calling you crazy. He also said that I needed to stop "trying to be my own doctor" and "I need to let it go". Not once in that appointment was I even able to talk enough to even remotely sound like I was "trying to be my own doctor". So idk where he got that from and why he felt the need to say all of this to me. But I will say this, it's doctors like this where people feel the need to "try to be there own doctor" because after being gaslit and dismissed over and over again, it gets tiring. So if doctors don't care enough to actual help and just genuinely care, then we just have to advocate for ourselves because no one else will. So no I will not just let it go because if I do, then no doctor will actually listen and figure out what's going on. I'm not saying I have something majorly wrong with me, but I do know something is off because there should be no reason that my heart rate spikes to 120+ every time I stand. There were a lot of other dismissive things said to me by Dr Austin but I was in utter disbelief the entire time that I really just stopped listening because I was about to just walk out of the room. It's clear that he had his mind made up about me before he even walked into the room just because of my age. I will not be returning and have already been referred elsewhere.

This is ridiculous. I called at 930 this am, (no call back). Called again at 300, (no call back). Called again at 545,(no call back from on call doctor, (no call back). HOW can you run a practice and not call your patient back. I see several comments about this and the person doing the reviews, tells everyone to call if they have any concerns . NO, THIS IS ON YOUR OFFICE. If I had a bad review, I believe I would be reaching out to the disappointed. Also, you out source your calls. Why, do your ma's not make phone calls? This is fundamental in a practice. If they are too busy, why not hire an MA to make phone calls, and call labs and prescriptions. Patients need to be able to reach a clinical staff member. Dr. Alston was great on the hospital, I wonder if he is aware his patient is being ignored? This is why you guys are losing patients. Just wow, do better, we are not just a number.

★★★★★

They gave me a stent in Cleveland, They put me on meds to bring down cholesterol and high blood pressure. I have had trouble with meds before and they got me on some I can tolerate, billing works with me, I have no complaints.

They (Christine) really knows how to screw someone on their short-term disability for work. Been off since Aug 28th for short-term and now I was just informed she wouldn't sign my papers due to the appointment that she set up for a vascular appointment. Got to restart this whole process. Thanks a lot.

Since the first visit and my dad only had one this office has been ridiculous. My dad had an echo (which was abnormal ) and I knew about the results before the office called me a month later. I called multiple times and left multiple messages and it took them a month to callback but then could schedule a follow up due to the schedules not open. I finally got an april appt and they called today to cancel it but the may schedule is not open yet. I work for a Drs Office and this is unacceptable. We love Dr Alston but this office is horrible. Dr. Alstons previous office was so much better! Horrible patient care !
