Patient
I was very disappointed with my appointment with Dr. Cronan. He did not meaningfully listen to my medical history or symptoms. When I tried to explain important details, he repeatedly told me I was 'off topic' and openly stated that he had not reviewed my stack of medical records, despite my primary care doctor speaking with him prior to the appointment to explain my complex condition. Although he initially said he wanted to see my prior labs, I offered to show them to him on my phone and he refused to look. He also declined to review before-and-after photos or images of my open sores, and he never performed a physical examination of my affected areas. I expected a medical evaluation, but he appeared uninterested in the clinical information I brought. Throughout the appointment, he repeatedly made comments suggesting that I 'just needed a plastic surgeon to fix bad work,' which felt insulting, inappropriate, and not the purpose of my visit. I was seeking medical guidance for ongoing symptoms, not cosmetic judgment or criticism of my appearance. At several points during the appointment, he appeared disengaged, rolling his eyes and playing with his ring instead of focusing on my concerns. This made the interaction feel dismissive, uncomfortable, and unprofessional. He briefly mentioned labs and a CT as possible options, yet also stated he did not know why I was there, which was confusing and dismissive considering my doctor had already spoken to him directly. I left without meaningful guidance, without feeling heard, and without compassion. Patients with chronic or complex medical symptoms deserve to be taken seriously, evaluated thoroughly, and treated with dignity. No patient should ever be made to feel judged or insulted when seeking medical care.
