Dr. Baker was very kind and explained my heart issue in laymen terms. He was thorough and explained my A fib and its risks, with possible path forward depending on further testing and results. I appreciate Dr. Baker's experience and thorough knowledge.
I had an appointment with Dr. Baker on 12/18/24. My husband and I got stuck in traffic and realized we were going to be late. I called the office and was informed that if we were later than fifteen minutes that I had to reschedule. We made it to the office four minutes after the grace period, and the receptionist said I had to reschedule. I told her not to bother. In order to go to that appointment, my husband had to close his business and lose wages for the day; I paid a sitter $200 to stay with my sister who's on Hospice care; and we drove two hours to get to the office. I realize that neither Dr. Baker, his staff, nor Roper Hospital cares, but they need to have some compassion for their patients and understand that things happen beyond our control that delay us sometimes, just as things happen beyond doctors' control that delay them and cause their patients to wait for hours at times. I've also been trying to get the results of a heart monitor since last month, and was told the nurse would call me. I've never heard from anybody about those results so wearing that monitor was just a waste of time and money. My experience with the appointment taught me a very expensive but valuable lesson about how this office is run. They were willing to lose a patient and did lose a patient over four minutes.
Having just met Dr. Baker for the first time, I was impressed not just by his reputation but by his demeanor also. He explained everything in detail and never rushed through any of my questions. I am scheduled to have a cardiac procedure and Dr. Baker truly put my mind at ease, taking the time to explain all aspects of what to expect.
Perpetually youthful Brett Baker has a gift not only for healing, but for patient care. After a conference with him, I leave feeling that I am an important person. This Doctor made me feel I was his only patient of the day. His relaxed manner and friendly interest is very soothing.
