Novant Health Hilton Head Medical Center

I am from Georgia, but was on vacation when I got a kidney infection and ended up in the ER in the early morning of Thanksgiving. I haven't been to the ER many times in my life but I can tell you that this was the best experience I have ever had at a hospital. I was seen immediately upon checking in, and the male nurse was so kind and placed the best, least painful IV I have ever had in my life. Dr. Golan came in within minutes of being triaged to talk about course of action. She also gave me an estimated time I would spend in the ER...AND IT WAS CORRECT! They took time to explain my plan of care, eased any anxieties I had, and got me back to my family just in time for the festivities! I can't say enough good things about my experience. Keep up the good work!!

I stayed in the hospital twice during October. During my first stay, the doctors and nurses were very caring, and although the room was old, it was in decent condition. However, it was clear that the nursing staff was understaffed and over worked. My second stay, about a week later, was a different experience. It was again noticeable that the nurses were short-staffed, and there seemed to be miscommunication between the nurses and doctors. The most concerning issue, however, was the condition of the shower in room 329 -- it was the worst I have ever seen. it is not a housekeeping issue is a maintenance issue. I don't understand how this facility is allowed to operate in such conditions. The food was terrible. Please see attached pictures for reference.

I'm so upset about the way we were treated I don't even want to talk about it in fear of digging up the trauma we went through because of non-professionalism of certain staff. The recover nurse answered my phone call and when asked how my husband was she jokingly said " He's Alive very very".....????? Really by a health professional ??? Especially since both my husband and myself have PTSD from a previous surgery that went bad and ended up in the ICU and almost died. This info is on all my husbands forms he hands to every doctor so they know ahead of time.

Had mammogram this morning from Hope in registration to Janelle who did my procedure everything was great. Very professional very friendly very efficient. So happy we have people like them working at our hospital.

Thank you to the wonderful team members of the ER and the wonderful care givers on the 3rd floor who took great care of my dad and mom while my dad was in the hospital. The discharge was so fast and easy. Thank you all! May God bless you!
