David Wayne Koontz, MD

Dr Koontz has been my PCP for over 13 years. He is also PCP for my family as I trust him implicitly. I've had doctors all over the US and in other countries when working as an Expat and have a broad base of working with all types of doctors. Dr Koontz, in my opinion based on my experience, has proven himself to be brilliant in his field of Internal Medicine. He also knows every aspect of medical history in order to strategize on treatment plans in more complex cases. Even more importantly, he genuinely cares about each and every patient as if we were his own family. He still demonstrates humility and listens intently to each patient to ensure he considers the very best treatment. Based on my experience, I believe he is one of the most proficient IM experts in Greenville.

This was my first visit at the facility and with Dr. Koontz. He was thorough, knowledgeable, and spent a lot of time with me. It was one of the most comprehensive physicals that I have received.

Dr Koontz has been my doctor for many years. He is professional, knowledgeable, compassionate and respectful. Before each visit he reviews my record and addresses my lab results one by one. He encourages my improvements and my efforts and reminds me of where and how I can work on any area that would give me maximum results. He addresses my emotional challenges as well. He always acknowledged the intern working under him and makes sure I am comfortable with her presence. His staff follows treats me with respect and professionalism. Dr. Koontz is the best doctor I have EVER had, and I have had ALOT. Dr. Koontz takes his time and allows me to discuss my concerns and problems with no judgement. I never have once felt like my appointment was rushed or that my concerns were dismissed. He listens to all my concerns and actively helps me get the answers I need, whether it is with medication changes, imaging, or referrals to specialists, I truly feel like Dr. Koontz personally cares about my health. If he ever moves or retires I'll cry! Dr. Koontz is a rare gem, I am so thankful for being in his care.
