Dr Kolla was very professional and knowledgeable about my condition. He took time to explain my treatment and what to expect along with his patience to answer our questions. Robin, his nurse, is also very knowledgeable, caring and kind. She always makes sure she gets back to you when you leave a message or need answers. They make a great team. The entire staff is kind , friendly and caring too.I would recommend Dr. Kolla and his staff for surgery.

My husband had an aorta valve replacement on May 29th. It was supposed to be a 5-7 day stay, 2 in ICU and the rest on the 6th floor. We r still her 24 days so far. We found out, only through a pulmonologist that I had requested because his lungs have been horrible, that an artery was nicked during surgery. He started C/O pain in his right side over the weekend after surgery causing it to be difficult to take a deep breath and walk. They said everything from it was the drain on his right side, to coughing. Even after they took the drain out he was still having the pain. The pulmonologist in the ICU kept repeatedly telling us it was muscular and just breathe through his nose. I asked for a CT scan which was deemed unnecessary. I asked if maybe he had a rib fracture or God forbid a blood clot. On Friday 6/7 his pain beca.e severe. He was sent to have a chest tray to check for a rib fracture which was negative. When he came back he started saying he couldn't breathe and became diaphoretic [sweating profusely]. The nurse said he was having a panic attack, told him to breathe through his nose and she have him Dilaudid. She had already given him Toradol before he went to xray. It relaxed him for a minute but it started again. His lips were getting pale. I asked the nurse to call respiratory or something. She did. They did a treatment which helped minimally. He asked to go back to bed. The nurse assisted him. As soon as he got in bed he went unresponsive. The nurse unable to arouse him called for help. As soon as the grabbed the crash cart I lost it.I went outside the room scared to death. The director of nursing finally came out and said the had got him back with narcan because he basically OD'd because he was unable to process the Toradol, Dilaudid and also Xanax he had received. But then it got worse. The pain in his side was because his chest had filled with blood because he had basically been bleeding into his chest for 8 days from the nicked artery. They had to do an emergency thoracentes, which is a surgical procedure where a drain is inserted in his side to drain what turned out to be a liter of blood while he was wide awake. He was literally drowning in his own blood. The CTscan would have shown what was going on before all that happened and they could have fixed it. On Monday he was taken back into the OR so Dr. Kolla could do an exploratory to assure all the blood was out though after finding out about the artery I now believe it was also to fix it to cover up his oversight so we wouldn't know. He should have just told us so we wouldn't have to find out through another doctor which we had requested. We also were told that it was discovered that he had double pneumonia by the anesthesiologist after that surgery. Another setback. He also had to get a pacemaker, which is not uncommon with a mechanical, but still another surgery. He is in pain now from. 4 surgeries, having constant anxiety attacks and s are to death. He is scheduled to go ho.me on Monday with home PT, nursing, then when he is strong enough start cardiac rehab outpatient. I have been by his side the whole time because we are 1 1/2 hours from home. The dishonesty, the rudeness to me from Dr. Kolla and watching my husband suffer unnecessarily has been overwhelming to say the least. It will be a long recovery process but withe support of our children, who all live down here, we will survive.

I had a surgery with Dr Kolla in 2022 and a am still in pain to this day. I have been through PT, Chiropractor, Injections with pain management and nothing has worked. I walk around on a good day with 6/10 pain. Alot of days I am on the sofa or in bed. My quality of life has suffered from this surgery. He did remove a paracardial cyst that was not cancer that I am am thankful. In the process he removed a good size chunk of my rib and never told me. I found out by looking at an xray. Also just FYI Iwas in NO PAIN BEFORE SURGERY!!!

Dr Kolla is amazing! My husband had CABG Surgery due to severe blockages at 60 years old, he's a cancer patient as well. First trip to the cardiologist, my husband was having an active heart attack. Dr Kolla spoke to us in terms that we could understand, explained step by step what the procedure consist of, what to expect after surgery, as well as spoke to me immediately over the phone after my husband was released from the hospital due to me calling his after hours line. He deeply cares about his patients, taking time to make sure both patient and family are mentally and physically okay during the stay in the hospital as well as the aftercare of the patient at home. Dr.kolla, you're literally a life saver. Thank you for going above and beyond the call of duty.
