McLeod Cardiology Associates - Florence

My husbands referral was sent on the 11th of december they got it on the 12th the receptionist had to put him in the computer because they had not seen it. Now we have to wait for the valve unit to call us to make an appointment. She could not tell me when they will call. She would not give me a number to call them. This is not a 1st good impression. Opinion to be continued!!!

I was unaware I had AFIB, until a routine exam revealed it at McLeod Hospital and I was completely shocked. Luckily they immediately contacted Dr. Om and Dr. Kocherla and I was completely unprepared, but Thank God for Dr. Om and D. Kocherla, they were my saving grace, strength and support system and they are truly a GIFT from GOD!!! I absolutely hate hospitals and needles and was truly terrified, but these Doctors along with their amazing staff and McLeod Hospital took excellent care of me and while I am the worst patient with the biggest fears, they went above and beyond to ensure I understood everything every step of the way and they gave me and my family peace of mind and great news for a great life. My purpose for posting this is to encourage others like me who are scared of the unknown. Please don't be, because fear of the unknown will not serve you well and McLeod Cardiology in Florence will put your fears at rest and be there every step of the way to a healthier, better more peaceful and productive life. Please call them if you're having any issues, Please don't wait!!!! You and your family are worth it!!!!!! Trust them with your life, I did!!!!!

Dr told me to continue using the prescriptions I was on. A week later they still hadn't sent in a refill so I called them to get a refill and they told me I had to see the Dr first. I Said I was just there a Week ago. They said they had no record of me being there. Then a week later they sent me a bill for the appt they claimed they had no record of.

One year ago I had a heart attack, after begin told that McLeod was the best option in the area, I requested to be transported there. I don't expect perfection nor do I expect total neglect. I was not neglected, actually I received good physical care but that is were it ended. I was in Cardiac Care approx 3 days and never laid eyes on my doctor. I could let that go, and frankly my wife and I decided to drive further and incur more inconvenience but wow do I now have a Cardiologist who is great but really takes care of me and actually talks to me and answers my questions. But the reason I'm commenting is what happened recently, I had set my payments up with the finance office and both the office and I agreed, I made every single payment on the dot, had a stellar record and was within 6-7 months of knocking the bill I owed out. I was turned over to collections - in the middle of being the perfect paying customer. I'll let you consider how you'd feel after doing 100% of your side only to be turned over to collections, who knows you might be okay with it. So why do I bother, of course I'll stay as far away as I can from anything McLeod - period! There is another option in the area so God forbid I need to be hospitalized I'll give them a go. I let you know my experience because if they rush you or someone you love to McLeod - consider moving them if you can. I can only hope that for some reason McLeod has had a run of bad days and the rest of their customers are satisfied, but for me the lack of physician contact when you are full or questions and followed up by a terrible experience with the financial side - why bother when you have to pay so much for healthcare.

My husband sees Dr. Om, he is wonderful. He needed some bloodwork done and the nurse said to come first thing at 8am to the lab and he would be taken right back. So we did, at 8:45 we ask if the lab was not going to be open today because of a closed sign on door. The lab tech did not like that and would not speak to my husband and was very rough drawing blood.
