If I could, I would give Dr. Ehsan a thousand stars. I can't say enough good things about this man. Last November Dr. Ehsan performed open heart surgery to repair my leaky mitral valve. By February I was back to walking over 7 miles in 99 minutes a day on my treadmill. By the way, I'm 68 years old. Not only is Dr. Ehsan an excellent surgeon, he is a very kind, caring, and compassionate man. I trusted him with my life, and I would do it again... in a heartbeat.
That was in 2019. Well on Halloween in 2024 I developed a tear in my aortic aneurysm. Luckily for me it didn't just blow out. Anyway I was rushed to Rhode Island Hospital and was prepped for surgery and the surgeon who was scheduled to perform it explained what he was going to do to fix it. The next thing I remember was waking up to that same surgeon telling me that the surgery went very well, and everything was fixed, but he did not perform the surgery. It seems Dr. Ehsan was performing another surgery when I arrived at the hospital, but finished it before my surgery was started. Being a previous patient, (my understanding is, it's standard operating procedure to inform a doctor when a previous patient is brought into the hospital) Dr. Ehsan was informed of me being there, and my condition. Well this man (who, keep in mind, had just performed surgery on another patient) stepped in and said "I got this".
He and his team spent over ten hours working on me. My recovery time was minimal, to say the least, and six months later I can do anything I feel up to, I have no restrictions. I walk my dog, an average of five miles a day, sometimes as much ten miles a day. So needless to say, Dr. Ehsan is MY super hero.

My mom is a patient of Dr Ehsan's. He performed her surgery in February. He took the time to call and talk to me and walk me through what took place during her surgery. He spoke to me with genuine care and concern, answered all my questions and did not rush me off the phone. It's hard enough when our parents are ailing and need to undergo life threatening surgeries, but having a surgeon like him makes all the difference in the world. Thank you Dr. Ehsan!

My name is Dennis King, a 76 year old truck driver who can't say enough good things about the knowledge and skills of a GREAT heart surgeon. Dr. Ehsan Afshin gave me my life back.
After seeing my primary care physician Dr. Martin and explaining I would get short winded when doing anything strenuous, I thought it was just my age catching up on me, I was wrong!
Dr. Martin then referred me to a Cardiologist, Dr. Anila R Peter-Faherty Who immediately performed a stress test. It was discovered my mitral valve in my heart was not functioning properly. Dr. Faherty sent me to see the heart specialty team at RI Hospital and the skilled and knowledgeable
team of Dr. Ehsan Afshin.
After more intensive testing it was discovered my Mitral valve was not functioning properly causing a lack of blood to my lungs. This valve issue was caused from having scarlet fever when I was a child. After more testing leaving no stones unturned, it was determined I needed a mitral valve replacement.
Needless to say I was scared to depth! But after realizing I was in the hands of a saint. God put this man on earth for one reason and one reason alone, to do great things for mankind. I was confident and trusted this man with my life, which he gave back to me. I can't say enough about the knowledge and talents of this great man.
I was in intensive care at Rhode Island hospital for4 days and on the 5th day sitting in my recliner at home with my family because of the knowledgeable ability of a great surgeon. I can't put into words how grateful I am to this wonderful and talented surgeon. He gave me my life back! I am forever indebted to this wonderful man.
In closing, any one who needs a heart doctor, see Dr. Ehsan Afshin and rest assured this man will do everything in his power to make your heart function the way it was intended.
Thank you
Dennis King
