Gastroenterology Department. Do you ever call people back who need to schedule their procedures? You completely forgot to schedule my endoscopy in the first place. I had to call YOU to get the ball rolling with that. But I'm still waiting on you to return any of my calls. I waited weeks thinking your endoscopy suites were just that backed up. When I called yesterday, then called back two more times throughout the day, you sent me a message through MyChart that someone would call me back "shortly." You invited me to call back if I hadn't heard. So I did, a third time. The woman who answered seemed mildly annoyed. "I'll put in another request." This morning makes four attempt calls. Nobody answered, nobody called back. It's now 5:30 pm and you're gone for the day. I left you a voicemail. It doesn't sit well that I could hear your team gabbing away and laughing with each other for half an hour or so, when I came for my initial consultation. What exactly is the issue with your department? If you can't take your patients seriously, then why should we take you seriously? You can't even offer the basic service of scheduling. I'm not going to call a fifth time, so at this point, let's just forget about it. I'll go someplace that has dedicated staff who answer their phones. One of the most basic things in a workplace, scheduling, and for some reason that's beyond your capabilities. Have fun chatting it up on the clock, as you seem to prefer.
