I gave birth recently at St Clair and my two nurses Jenn and McKenzie were absolute rockstars. They took amazing care of me the hours before delivering and gave the same level of care after I gave birth to me and my newborn. They both took the time to get to know my husband and I and made us feel so comfortable. I was not just another patient for them to pass the day, they cared for me. I could go on and on about how incredible they were, I could not thank them enough for being the best nurses out there!!

I took my son to the emergency room in June for concussion/whiplash screening, he was a passenger in a car that was hit.
We told the receptionist why we were there and she asked for our insurance card and his driver license.
After a long wait, exam and release my kid went home with a crappy neck brace and not much information, after CT scans and evaluations.
A month or so later, we receive bills and collections notices. We had no idea that OUR car insurance was necessary for the claim.
We contact our insurance after paying bills, as to not ruin our kid's (just turned 19) credit score.
We no longer are able to deal with his medical and every time he calls or our insurance calls, they never get the right person and nothing is resolved.
Almost 6 months later, nothing is resolved and I paid bills for my kid being a victim in an accident he had 0% responsibility for.
The receptionist: a failure.
The billing department: a failure.
The system: a failure.
Thanks for nothing, we will never return to this convenient location.
Can I give zero stars?

The birthing center is top-notch. We couldn't have had a better experience. Special shout-outs to Dr. Schmitz, Dr. Griffin, and Dr. Conway for delivering our baby, and also a special shout-out to Leslie and Sam, the two nurses who absolutely gave us the best care possible after our baby was born.

My wife and I were in town from Ohio for surgery she was having at an outpatient office. She unfortunately had an adverse reaction to anesthesia while she was there and had to be transported by ambulance to St. Clair Hospital Emergency Department to be treated. When I arrived it was nice to see that the emergency department had proper security measures with a police officer and a sophisticated scanning system as you entered. I had a backpack on that I travel a lot with for work that has a lot of devices in it. While trying to inquire about what I needed to do as my wife was being wheeled in the police officer was very respectful and waited until I had a chance to talk with the nurse at the entrance. Once I was done he was very polite and respectful and informed me about their scanning system and that it picked up something that just required him to search my bag and quickly explained what it most likely was. Being familiar with those systems I was aware of the process but really appreciated his politeness, professionalism and restfulness during everything I was currently dealing with.
When I was able to meet my wife in the trauma bay that she was in she went through two different staffing groups due to a shift change. Every single individual from the techs, nurses, and doctors were nothing but respectful, polite and truly made us feel like they were going above and beyond. Even while we were both very anxious and felt like a lot was going on and there was a lot of worry because of her condition, the staff did a great job reassuring us about them monitoring her stats, and addressing any issues or concerns while also being proactive on thing such as pain management. Because of everything going on with her she was admitted to stay over night and had to be moved to another area.
We then had the opportunity to meet another individual who was also a Air Force Veteran that had severed in several wars for our country and also lost an eye on the process. We connected and had a great conversation between ourselves and my wife during our walk to the other area about our service as I too served and was wounded overseas.
Finally when we got to her room we got to meet a new group of team members. They too didn't miss a beat. They were just as amazing as the ER team and went above and beyond for ensuring that we were well informed, well cared for, and as comfortable as possible.
My wife and I truly couldn't thank the entire St. Clair Hospital staff enough for an amazing experience during such a traumatic event for having to be at a hospital. We have never experienced this level of care and professionalism from any hospital and wanted to share our experience as we know hospitals don't always get the best reviews due to the situations families are going through while there. So thank you all so much again!
A grateful family,

My highest regards to the staff on the 5th floor, nurses, doctors, dietary, and housekeeping. I was admitted there on Tuesday and received great care until I was discharged today. I basically had emergency gall bladder removal due to stones, enzymes, and duct issues. This was on going and caused intense pain which resulted in me missing work. They managed my pain and nausea. I had a steady stream of doctors from Pittsburgh Gastro, PA's, and doctors from my primary care physicians office stopping by to check on me and explain to me what was going on. Way to go Med Surg floor 5 team. You are amazing!
