Avoid. Go to Paoli. The negative reviews are not exaggerating. Dr. Kovalovich misdiagnosed a bile duct obstruction as mild gastritis. Did not send to Reading for an ERCP as they cannot do it on site. Ignored previous gall stones days prior that were invisible to external imaging. Dr. Akhter completely ignored competent pain management protocols. Did not put in PRN orders for 4 days, leaving my wife in 10/10 pain for hours at a time and added notes in the chart leading night physicians to ask nurses directly (we heard through the open door!) if she was "faking it" while vomiting and writhing from pain. The nurses were very upset about the situation and some did try to advocate, that's how we eventually got PRN. Resident Dr. Tasgin Yildirim is extremely rude and dismissive. Made it very obvious she did think my wife was faking it. Spoke to her like she was a whining child and nuisance. Came into the room to monologue and did not listen for an actual conversation (they are all pretty bad at listening here). If she did listen it was to say she didn't see what we were talking about. She should be a surgeon dealing with people who are unconscious or work in the morgue, she has no business speaking to patients face to face. It was very obvious Doctors here make a judgement immediately and are inflexible to change or challenging their presuppositions, unfortunately they also do not listen so they are half going off of intuition. Wife was discharged on a high dose of morphine. Symptoms returned an hour after leaving after being inpatient for a week. We went to Paoli, the ER wait was about five minutes. They immediately diagnosed the issue in the ER and also found my wife was extremely dehydrated as she had not able to eat or drink much for a week and Phoenixville did not have her on fluids (they knew, the Phoenixville dietician had stopped by to say so). Paoli didn't play pain management games, immediately transferred elsewhere for the necessary treatment and then brought her back with instant relief from all symptoms. Go to Paoli. ER Dr. Dickson is outstanding and I fully believe if she had been in charge of the care throughout, things would have been resolved. Unfortunately the wait in the ER is atrocious.

I was told I was to have an echocardiogram the next morning, early, so woke up prepared and then waited, and waited some more. As it turns out they were shortstaffed and kept me a day in the hospital just to then go to the next day to get the test that cost me an extra $350 because Medicare does not cover those days so it is a glorified hotel. I do want to say that the emergency room nurses were phenomenal. Identifying that I had had a heart attack and immediately went to work to make sure that it didn't get worse. Kudos to those folks who work in the emergency room. Just wish the rest of the hospital were sharp.

I was lucky enough to have Dawn as my nurse for two shifts, and she was awesome--great at her job and just a genuinely nice person. Angela was also fantastic: super friendly and clearly knows her stuff. Honestly, every nurse I had over my four-day stay was talented, upbeat, and a pleasure to be around. They really made being in the hospital a whole lot easier (and way more bearable!).

I came to the ER because I slipped on the snow and fell hard on the sidewalk. I was in excruciating pain! I know my arm was fractured and I had other injuries. I looked like and felt like I got hit by a truck. Well the lady in charge, Julie Rich gave me ZERO pain meds! She got my bloodwork done & obviously for whatever her reasons were for, absolutely nothing! The only nice & helpful one was Nicole. The other nurses are a waste of time! They're so FAKE! Also when they came in to do my X-rays, the technician took off my necklace & threw it on one of the trays, I had to ASK where it was! I asked Julie to please give me something for pain, I have a fracture elbow, neck sprain, injured back & so on. She proceeded to tell me that I will only get IBUPROFEN, okay mom! Like really! So the nurse comes back in to give me IBUPROFEN with HOT water. I told her the water was hot & she said oh really & just continued trying to give me the pills with hot water. This Hospital is a Absolute JOKE! So I had to sit home in terrible pain until I see my doctor! Do Not Go to this hospital unless you want to be treated like you're nothing!!!!!
