Patient
I am appalled by the lack of clinical concern this practice has for their adolescent patients. I made an appointment for my daughter, a new patient 6 months ago, and it was scheduled for May 11th. I received a call three weeks ago stating Dr. Barnes would not be in the office on May 11th and the next available appointment wouldn't be until July 27th at 9am. I wasn't happy that it was an additional 3 months, but I took it. Then I was called a week later to tell me Dr. Barnes was no longer available at 9am but she had an opening at noon, so I took that appointment. This morning her office called to reschedule the May 11th appointment. When I explained that this was already done, the scheduler seemed confused and said there was nothing on the books for July 27th and the next available appointment wasn't until September, which would make it 11 months since I first called to make an appointment. The scheduler was very sympathetic and added my daughter to the schedule on July 27th but I have a feeling I will be getting another call to tell me Dr. Barnes is not in the office o. The 27th. I realize this is not the fault of the scheduler but it is unacceptable medical practice to make a patient wait almost a year for an appointment, especially if the doctor is an adolescent cardiologist! Dr. Barnes should not accept any new patients as she clearly does not have the capacity to do so.
