I can't say enough good things about McKeesport Hospital! From the moment I arrived in the ER until discharge, the care and attention I received was absolutely exceptional. The entire staff went above and beyond in every possible way -- they truly didn't leave a single stone unturned.
Everyone I encountered, from the staff in the ER, the transport employees to the nurses, technicians, and doctors, were friendly, professional, and genuinely kind. You could tell that every person working there truly cared about their patients and took pride in what they do. It's rare to find a hospital where everyone seems genuinely happy to be there, but that's exactly the feeling you get at McKeesport Hospital.
The level of compassion, teamwork, and dedication was outstanding. I'm deeply grateful for the incredible care and would highly recommend McKeesport Hospital to anyone in need of medical treatment. Five stars all the way!

I have not always had good interactions with doctors or hospitals, until tonight. I have never been treated so good by a doctor and staff as I was tonight. Dr. Mark Daybear and Nurse Carrie were so nice to me and went above and beyond to not only help me tonight, but to make sure I had care after I left and a plan. They even contacted the after care office to make sure I would have a place to go to continue my treatment for my diagnosis. I really felt that they actually cared. My family and I just moved here from Nashville and though they say the south is known for its hospitality, you wouldn't know it if you went to the ER in TN. One of the reasons why we moved to Pittsburgh was because how nice and down to earth the people are here. I think people don't talk enough about the great hospitality you find up here in Pittsburgh and how down to earth and nice everyone here is. After tonight, I'm definitely sure we made the right move by coming here. Thank you again UPMC McKeesport, Doctor Daybear and Nurse Carrie, yal are in a class of your own.

Lack of employees, impersonal. No reception person at cardiac care area. Phone in waiting room, strangely, not clear what to do. People in waiting room point to the phone, pick it up some one takes your information definitely against all HIPPA regulations!

Poorly labeled buildings and not ADA friendly. You come here with an injury or broken leg for example and there is not a parking area near the entrance, only valet parking. Then, the people at the front desk are useless when you ask for a wheelchair. It's better to walk on your own even if it hurts. You will get to the doctor's office quicker that way. The wheelchair will come 2 hours later. They have no sense of urgency. In addition, personnel will make faces when you ask for help like they don't want to help. Totally unprofessional behavior.

I am one pissed off person with McKeesport hospital! I took my husband there for alcohol detox and rehab. The day was going really good everyone in the ER was very nice we were told they would have to transfer him to Mercy hospital because the insurance would not cover the stay there.. okay no problem now we're just waiting on EMS to get there for transport and it could take a couple hours so I left the hospital at around 5:00 p.m. with the notion he was being transported to Mercy. I didn't hear nothing from my husband for a couple hours he was supposed to call when they were transporting him. The phone call never came so I checked on my chart to see if he had been transported yet and then I found out through my chart that he became to critical and needed to be admitted to an ICU unit and was being transported to Jefferson hospital . I called the hospital just as they were taking him there. Never once did they call and say he became critical and nor did they tell me that he was being life flighted I would have went straight back there. I found all of that out at Jefferson hospital. So apparently McKeesport hospital does not inform patients relatives if a patient becomes critical . Unbelievable totally unprofessional. This got 1 star because there was no option for 0
