I recommend going somewhere else for treatment like an actual doctor that has the knowledge to take care of you the way anyone would expect. From my experience I feel like while "trying" to explain what I am feeling I was cut off with heart attacks are different for men and females. Like I had rehearsed symptoms of a heart attack off of Google. And there's no history of the heart in the family.... well I don't know a lot of family history because of adoption so how can she say there's no history when nobody knows..... When test say abnormal how is there nothing to worry about!? This is my life and I have a beautiful family that doesn't deserve to lose me because of some arrogant "nurse". If you value your life go somewhere else because I sure am! Wishing everyone a better experience. Have a blessed day

CRNP Jennifer Skalican does a outstanding job. She's very interactive with you during your visit. She also takes you step by step through your recovery process and what is needed to be successful in your healing. I highly recommend her as a CRNP for Cardiology.

From the moment she walked in, it felt like I'd interrupted a well-rehearsed TED Talk on what's "normal" and what's not. My concerns about PVCs were brushed aside repeatedly with the same canned line: "We don't worry about those until they increase in frequency or intensity." Ironically, that's exactly what brought me in. When I mentioned my family history of aortic stenosis and carotid blockages, and the fact that I'm diabetic, I expected some level of concern or at least a thoughtful discussion. Instead, I got a reluctant, "I guess we can do an echo since there's not one in your chart." The highlight was being asked multiple times if I "wanted" to go home with a heart monitor, as if ordering appropriate testing is some kind of optional add-on, like fries with your meal. I chose a female practitioner because I assumed there might be a bit more empathy and understanding. Not the case... Even the follow-up call was dismissive, a quick "everything was normal" from the staff and no opportunity for questions or clarification. I was told to "keep a journal" of my symptoms and call if they worsened. They're already happening daily, often with dizziness and shortness of breath, but apparently, that's not intense or frequent enough to raise eyebrows. At this point, I can only assume that "Life Changing Medicine" (UPMC's slogan) refers to the kind of change you experience after being completely dismissed and left to wonder if fainting behind the wheel will finally get someone's attention.

My appointment with my PA in cardiology was one of the most informative of my 72 years on this earth . She had an answer for all my questions and also very personable to speak with. Im very please with the outcome and I am glad to be in her service now

Not impressed by Jennifer G.Skalican I need an echo done of my heart And I probably won't go there again. Im 65 and not stupid and I felt like I was there. Her staff is very nice not her.
