Providence Bridgeport Family Medicine

My experience with bridgeport Providence medical center and urgent care has been very positive for many years. They have been overwhelmed by new patients for the past 5 years since illegal aliens were given free healthcare by the state of Oregon. But they were there for me for many stressful periods over the years and I appreciate them.

I waited over an hour to do a simple urine test. It doesn't even take any manpower to let someone provide a sample. This place is run by some raccoons in a trench coat for sure. Completely empty waiting room, employees on break, and me just patiently waiting, bladder bursting.

My PCP is Dr. Nancy Chang. She's highly attentive and thorough. She takes the time to explain medical information in depth, outlining both the benefits and potential risks of everything we talk about. However, I'm disappointed with the recent change in scheduling procedures. Previously, she was able to schedule follow-up appointments directly, in person or via telehealth, which was much more convenient. Now, I have wait on hold for extended periods to book an appointment, and if I miss a call, I have to go through the process again. This new system has made scheduling significantly more challenging and less efficient. Hopefully it goes back to what it was before.

It bums me out to see so many negative reviews of Providence Bridgeport. I switched my primary care to Providence a couple years ago and I have nothing but great things to say to them. EVERY, and I mean every time I have come in for a scheduled appointment, I am waiting no longer than 5 minutes. It's generally a very quiet clinic and the staff has always been friendly. My doctor is knowledgeable as are the nurses. I've also had a session with the in house physical therapist (forgot his name, middle aged man) and he was super nice and helpful! My daughter and I both love Providence.

Such a caring staff and they saw me immediately and made sure I was taken care of! Thank you so much!
