Kind and a great listener to his patients. Not like most providers who have a complex of being the smartest person in the room. Good provider!

Kind and a great listener to his patients. Not like most providers who have a complex of being the smartest person in the room. Good provider!
Within minutes of our initial consultation, it became clear that this cardiologist was both dismissive and lacked a comprehensive understanding of POTS. He inaccurately described it as a heart condition, when in reality, POTS is a complex disorder that affects the autonomic nervous system and impacts the entire body, not just the heart. It can occur for various reasons and given my medical history and symptoms, I was told to seek diagnosis. When trying to explain this, he said "so you've googled POTs and think you have it." I explained my previous treatment team pushed for me to seek this diagnosis. I also explained that i have failed every single EKG i have gotten in the last 6 years. Most recent being in October. He said "and you're not just dehydrated?" I explained that I drink the recommended water intake, constantly monitored my electrolytes, and had regular labs. He continued to dismiss me saying "there are no labs for POTs." Further showcasing his unwillingness to listen and recognize POTs and what tests they do to make sure someone remains stable. After wearing a heart monitor for two weeks, I was told everything appeared "normal," despite experiencing frequent pre-syncope episodes, a consistently elevated heart rate with postural changes, and extended periods where my pulse remained over 120 bpm. I wear a secondary device to monitor and track my heart as this is not my first rodeo. My strongest advice to anyone navigating similar challenges is to find a different cardiologist, one who listens, who takes your symptoms seriously, and who doesn't dismiss your concerns based on your age. I think for typical cardiovascular issues in those of an older age, he would be a great doctor. But if you are younger with atypical issues, stay away.
He saved my life. In BF 67 percent of the time. Thank you so much
