Patient Reviews

Patient

Asked for a 5 stars review during my daughter's visit several times! This is appalling for a Dr to ask for reviews. If you notice all his reviews are 5 star!! Then he billed me for reading records for a visit I didn't even have scheduled. He charged me a co-payment for a visit when no visit was scheduled. Didn't even help me with my POTS dx either. Gave me an Rx that caused my BP to spike and not come down. The worst!

I was a longtime patient of Dr. Smith and initially had an excellent experience. He was attentive and willing to learn about my complex conditions (VEDS/POTS/MCAS), and I referred many patients and family members because of that early trust. As the practice grew and became known for treating POTS, coordination of care declined. Follow-ups became difficult, referrals were repeatedly dropped, and it took years to get help for vascular compressions that multiple specialists had already documented. During this time, I had several ER visits for severe electrolyte instability and often couldn't reach anyone on the team. The breaking point was being told the clinic could no longer follow me because my case affected their bottom line and was "too complex." Losing care so abruptly had serious consequences. By the time I returned to my cardio team in Dallas, I learned I had been at significant risk of stroke and would likely still be on IV nutrition had I waited any longer for surgical intervention. I'm sharing this out of concern for other rare-disease patients. Losing coordinated care after years of trying to self-advocate is devastating, and it took me two years to speak up out of fear of retaliation or losing access to care. Patients deserve to know so they can protect themselves and advocate early.

I met with Dr Smith for the first time last week. He had read my records and was ready to answer all my questions. Dr. smith displayed amazing understanding and knowledge of my issues. He had a plan for my care and offered hope. I don't think I could ask for more.

Dr. Smith is amazing, excellent listener, explains things on plain easy to understand English rather than big words. So grateful I got an appointment with him.
