I'm sharing this experience with the permission of my mother because it's important for patients to feel heard, respected, and properly informed. Symptoms should not be dismissed solely as weight-related.
Seek this doctor if you can "loose 30 pounds in 3 weeks before your follow up appointment".
During her visit, her concerns were repeatedly dismissed and brushed off. She was spoken to in a condescending manner and treated as though she did not understand her own medical history. Despite having undergone two stress tests, she was told she did not know what a stress test was, and no meaningful explanation of her heart health or test results was provided.
Instead, every concern was reduced to a single message: that all of her problems were due to her weight and that she needed to lose weight. There was no discussion, no education, and no collaborative care, only dismissal.
Weight can absolutely be part of a health conversation, but it should never replace listening, explanation, or proper medical evaluation. Patients deserve respectful communication and clear answers, regardless of body size. In this case, it was concerning given that she has lost over 100 pounds in the past year, information that was either overlooked or disregarded.
We will be seeking care with a different cardiologist. I'm sharing this not out of anger, but out of advocacy. I hope this encourages better communication and compassion so future patients don't leave feeling unheard or belittled

A close family member recently went to him. He was extremely condescending, dismissive of questions, and went so far as being insulting. No care or compassion at all.
Find another cardiologist if you don't want to be talked down to.
It's a shame he's employed by the Oklahoma Heart Hospital. They have a great reputation, but won't for long with him.

If I could leave 0 stars I would. Very unprofessional and rude. He didn't listen. He talks over you the entire time. Didn't really seem to care about my family history. Told me that my ejection fraction being at 45% on LV "could" just be my normal. I've been dealing with chest pains, arm pain, and back pain and he basically said I'm not having a heart stack right now and the pain is something I would have to just deal with. Got in with a new cardiologist and he told me about all these things Dr Ahmad never mentioned once. Started me on new medications that he said I need to be on for my heart. Save yourself the headache and your time and get in with someone else. He is there for a paycheck and to spout off what he learned in med school and onto the next. No compassion. Worst experience with a doctor.

He is the most unprofessional physician that we have ever encountered. He had the audacity to call a 19 year old young lady "worthless" for not being able to proficiently translate for his 67 year old patient. Even went as far as asking why she had not learned English in her 25 years of being in the U.S. I don't care what title you have, you DON'T speak to ANY patient in that manner. Don't waste your time. He is rude and careless. Do yourself a favor and find another cardiologist.
