Genesis Heart & Vascular Institute

This hospital has saved some very important loved ones in my life and I'm forever grateful for them! The staff is all very welcoming and caring....all except for Kelly (lady with short white hair), the "patient care check in receptionist". I have been taking my grandmother to appointments here for over a year. Today for the first time I was running behind due to the crazy Zanesville interstate traffic and the parking lot situation. Upon checking my grandmother in, we were 10 minutes late. Kelly was insensitive and rude about it as if she herself was put out of her day because we were late. Her attitude is deplorable. She shouldn't be sitting behind a desk at a facility that does patient "CARE". I talked with another member of staff about her and before I even mentioned her name the staff already pinned her name before I had a chance. Seems to me like she has had this attitude towards patients long enough for other employees to recognize it.

Had an appointment there been there several times in the past with no results. Was having trouble with breathing, and my heart decided to make another appointment. I went in there and thoroughly explained my symptoms again. I seen APRN CNP Marissa Evancho I kept reiterating myself and telling her what was going on. The whole time I was explaining, she had a smirk smile on her face like I was making this stuff up. She seem not to know what to do or how to diagnose what was going on. She said she wanted to order a stress test. Then five minutes later, she changed her mind and said she wasn't going to. I believe her knowledge is very minimal Visiting with her. She made me feel very small and uneducated. She was condescending the whole time. I'm going to have my primary care physician referred me to a cardiologist in a different city. Zanesville healthcare has completely declined.

Found the care on several occasions very poor and improper. As a nurse who wants to see our hospital succeed it is sad to see how patients are treated and that good patient care is not their goal it's unfortunate but they are driven solely by money.

I had been experiencing some chest pain and shortness of breath for a while last year. Told my Primary provider and she sent me to Genesis for tests. They showed my left descending artery was 90% blocked. Cardiologist at Genesis scheduled me for a catherization and I had two stents implanted. My experience with them was great. All of the staff was kind and seemed genuinely concerned. I'm feeling great and back to my normal activities working at the Wilds as a tour guideThe procedure was in October of 2023. Thank you to the physicians and staff. I know you get a lot of criticism from people but not from me.
