UTMC Heart and Vascular Center

Went in for a kidney stone and was treated absolutely terribly. Writhing in pain and they refused to give me anything until after I had a CT scan. Scan came back as activly passing a stone and they still wouldn't give me anything for my pain until I stopped moaning in pain?!?! Asked for a patient advocate to complain they weren't following their own patient rights (a paper they gave me when I came in). Those advocates are not there for you, they are there to protect the hospital, they don't care about you at all. Even asked for the nurses name who was taking care of me so I could file a complaint the next day and they refused and said I would have to request a copy of my medical history to get it. Will NEVER go here or take my family here again.

Sometimes POTS feels horrible. It feels like the loss of freedom, the loss of vacations and memories, the loss of socialization and understanding. However, most of the time, it brings the feeling of gratitude. Gratitude for things you once took for granted, and gratitude for the beauty that still shines in darkness. The most beautiful of all, are the beautiful people. This clinic exemplifies these people. It's no secret that Dr. Grubb and Dr. Karabin are the best of the best. Beverly spends a full hour listening to you, genuinely caring and finding ways to help, while providing hope. I could truly write about how wonderful she is for pages. It's not just the doctors though, it's the entire staff. From the second we walked in, they warmly greeted my family and brought out crayons and paper for our boys. Then, right on time, the nurse took us back to our room. She was kind and patient and understanding as she asked questions and listened carefully to the answers. As soon as she finished, Dr. Karabin came in. We've had the same experience twice now, and I don't expect it to ever change. This is a job that they do, not to earn a paycheck, but to make a difference in our lives. They take the time to understand a condition that no one else could fathom Thank you, UTMC.

Best care I have ever received. Top notch facility and staff, and this is coming from a medical professional!
