Hello I am the Husband of Andy and I had a very poor experience with Dr Wilson. I first was introduced to Dr Wilson after having a bout of AFIB just over a year ago. I was admitted to Lake West and when Dr Wilson came to see me after initially being admitted, he casually said to me "don't worry, you didn't have a heart attack. I responded by saying "yes I understand but if I had a stroke due to AFIB I could lose function in half my body or worse". He said yes! Not very comforting. Dr Wilson's bedside manner is just very poor. I realize that there is more to a doctor than bedside manner but ... I recently had another bout of AFIB. This came after I had been trying for over a week to get in touch with Dr Wilson specifically as there were contradicting directions on a prescription that he had written for me. I had asked Dr Wilson for a go to med that I could take if I feel I have gone into AFIB. He prescribed Flecinide. The problem was that the directions on the prescription bottle were wrong. I found this out by consulting another cardiac Dr. the directions stated take one pill per day. One pill per day is not enough at the 50mg does to do anything to combat an AFIB attach. I needed to take six of those pills. While waiting to try and reach Dr Wilson, I did have another AFIB attack. I made contact with his office a number of times and while his assistant was kind, she even said that after 6/7 days that even she could not get in touch with him. Probably not good. Dr Wilson finally called me back about ten days after my initial call to him and apologized for taking "a couple days" to return my call. Really, " a couple days". More like ten. There are better cardiologists out there. Do your homework and find one. I strongly suggest passing on Dr. Wilson. I did follow up by letting the above be know via letter to the CEO of University Hospitals, the Director of the Harrington Heart Center as well as a couple other execs at UH. No communication back. Kind of lets one know where the execs position is unfortunately.
