Medical staff listened to my concerns and ran all appropriate tests. They always made sure me and my husband were comfortable and had whatever we needed. They communicated clearly and professionally during the entire encounter. Thank each one of you for your care.

I'm planning on moving from my forever home, only because this is the ER closest to my house and where I have to be taken when I call for an ambulance. This ER did not make me feel safe when I was taken there. I was taken straight to the waiting room from the ambulance, passed out in the wheelchair, and woke up hours later and no one had checked on me to make sure I was okay. I called family to take me elsewhere. I've used ride services to make sure I go anywhere but here. I don't trust this ER with my life. What little interaction I had with staff was questionable. Someone in the ER said they were on diversion and whispered with the ambulance EMT. So apparently "on diversion" meant the ambulance should have taken me to an open ER but they just wheeled me out to the waiting room. It turned out it was just a painful burst cyst, so I wasn't going to die, but it was a jarring experience.

I was instructed by my primary care provider and a few others to go to Kettering's ER for ongoing mental health issues. This was one of the biggest mistakes of my life. When I reported that I was having suicidal thoughts, I was taken into a small, almost bare room, forced to strip naked and switch into all hospital clothes, and was searched by a security officer. They ran a few tests, but mostly I was left in the room with no communication. I was there for a total of 12 hours! The area was locked as well, so I couldn't even leave if I would have wanted to. The doctor and nurses only spent a few minutes with me out of this 12 hour stay. The worst part though was when the "behavior" person came in. She did not introduce herself,. didn't give me her name, and didn't tell me what exactly she did at the hospital. She just immediately started firing off questions in a very cold, rude manner. I mentioned that I didn't appreciate her tone, which only seemed to make her treat me worse. She cut me off while I was trying to answer questions and did not seem to listen to me. I went to Kettering in my most vulnerable state seeking help, but I was treated in a cold and uncaring manner. Within a few minutes, she told me I shouldn't be allowed to return to my job and that I would be involuntarily transferred to a mental health facility quite far away from this hospital and my home. I tried to ask questions and explain my situation as to why this would not be optimal for my care, but she completely ignored everything I was trying to say and left. Hours later, I finally got to speak to the doctor again. This doctor was to sign off on my involuntary transfer. However, he wasn't even a psychiatric doctor - just a general practitioner. I explained to him how the lady did not listen to me and how it would not be good for me to be involuntarily transferred. He then assured me that they could have a psychologist or psychiatrist do an additional assessment to determine the best course of action. This never happened. I sat in the room hours longer only to be involuntarily transferred to a horrendous facility against my will. My wife and I are also in a very bad financial state due to a number of circumstances, but I had to pay over a thousand dollars for my involuntary stay in that place - money I didn't have. I also had to pay nearly $300 for the ambulance ride I was forced into despite not really having the money for these things. My mom was with me and could not believe how poorly I was treated in my time of need. I ended up in a far worse mental state after this entire traumatic experience. If you are struggling with mental health issues or suicidal thoughts, do NOT go to Kettering ER. I don't think I'll ever get over my terrible treatment and almost complete disregard for my well-being and my needs displayed by the staff of this hospital. I don't want anyone to ever have to endure the cold, dehumanizing experience I went through here. If you need serious mental health help, be patient and go through your primary care provider. Do not go anywhere near Kettering ER.

My girlfriend and I went because she just started bleeding while urinating, she was uncomfortable with having male nurses and medical assistants ect. So they had to find a female nurse which too quite a bit..... other than that they were all nice quick and VERY PROFESSIONAL!!!! Nice hospital overall for sure!!!!!
