Patient
I am a retired MD who has seen Dr Sequeira for several years. He arranged for one of his partners to do a procedure on me last year. His partner, Dr. Nazir did the procedure without ever meeting me and didn't talk to me before or after the procedure. I complained about this and even met with Dr.Nazir to discuss my concerns last year. Yesterday I arrived for my appointment, which had been rescheduled because the doctor was unavailable when my original appointment was scheduled, and was charged a copay and weighed. The medical assistant recorded my weight as 20 lbs more than I weighed. I waited 10 minutes for the doctor who greeted me and told me he was surprised I had come back. He then told me to find another cardiologist since his partners were not comfortable seeing me anymore. When I requested a refund of my copay, the office manager refused. I probably should have fired Dr Sequeira in June of 2022, when I saw him several times for chest pain and shortness of breath on exertion. I even had a cardiac cath, and he told me to tell my PCP to " find another cause for my chest pain" because it wasn'tmy heart. A week later, my PCP ordered a d-dimer blood test and sent me to the ER the next day where a chet CT showed multiple pulmonary emboli and I was put on blood thinners. Dr Sequeira should probably have looked beyond my heart for the right diagnosis. Perhaps I should thank Dr Sequeira for making find a better cardiologist!
