Patient
If I could give this practice zero stars, I would. Mt. Carmel Heart and Vascular operates more like a high-volume corporate factory than a patient-centered medical facility, and unfortunately, the quality of care -- including from Dr. Ravipati -- reflects that. From the moment you try to contact them, it's clear that efficiency and profit are valued over patient care. You can never reach a live person on the phone; calls go to voicemail, and you simply hope their return call happens at a time when you're available. On arrival, the check-in is entirely self-service, which further reinforces the feeling that human interaction is being intentionally minimized. Once we were finally taken back to an exam room, we waited for over an hour, listening to nurses loudly laughing and socializing outside the door, with no indication that anyone was concerned about the delay or the condition of the patient. When Dr. Ravipati eventually entered, he gave the impression of being unprepared and disengaged. Despite my husband having recently suffered a mild heart attack (which was clearly noted in his records), the doctor appeared not to have reviewed any of the test results or charts beforehand. Instead of addressing the documented cardiac issue or the suspected blockage , which is why we were referred there, he immediately began asking irrelevant questions about what my husband had eaten, speculating about gastrointestinal causes. (I was thinking, are you serious?) His demeanor came across as smug and dismissive, and he spoke with misplaced confidence about a specialty he does not practice. When I asked why cardiac results weren't being discussed, he asked me what was wrong with my husband's heart, because "this could be a gastro issue" ( I was very upset by this point and we stood up and left the office). It was very clear he had not reviewed any of the medical information available to him. Between the factory-style operation of the practice, the lack of communication, the extended wait times with no concern for patients, and a cardiologist who had not even reviewed a recent heart attack before consultation, which is exteremly concerning. If you are seeking knowledgeable, compassionate cardiovascular care, I strongly recommend looking for a private provider who values patient safety and preparation over high-volume throughput. This practice, and unfortunately, our experience with Dr. Ravipati; left us with serious doubts about their priorities and clinical standards.
