I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Kong because he was the earliest available cardiologist and my symptoms have been persisting. I've been having heart pains intermittently for years but they usually only last 15 minutes or less. The last week the pain in my heart has been worse and consistent, then started moving down my left arm and up my neck which was an abnormal for me. When I described these symptoms to the other doctor who saw me before Kong, he pretty much jumped to the conclusion that I had nerve damage in my left arm and suggested that I adjust the way that I sit when I am working. Anyway, they decided to run an EKG test on me. Dr. Kong suggested the results came back normal and recommended that I take ibuprofen or aleve to "see what that does for me". I am not the type of person who goes and sees doctors for common colds and check ups. I never go to the doctor for anything and haven't been in years... so if I thought an OTC pain reliever would have helped.. I wouldn't have made an appointment with a specialist. I've been taking aspirin and Ibprofen (which I had told him) so I knew that wasn't working, I asked him what we could do to figure out what's causing this and he handed me a pamphlet with Christ hospital doctors and sent me on my way. No further tests, no blood work, just a recommendation to take an OTC pain reliever and find a different doctor. I was right there at the hospital seeing a heart specialist with all tests and treatments readily available and he didn't want to do anything for me. I left with no more information than I came in with and the same symptoms causing the same degree of concern. Now I have wasted a week waiting for this appointment and left hoping I wouldn't have to go to the ER while I wait for the next one with a doctor that I don't know. Very frustrating/scary and would not recommend seeing this doctor if you want to be taken care of.
