As a young person who has had more than 15 specialists since becoming chronically ill in 2019, I say with full confidence that Jack Rubenstein is the worst by measures. I have never before been treated with such negligence and disrespect by a medical professional. Despite my records showing and me verbally stating 3 times that I have POTS, Dr. Rubenstein did not measure my orthostatics, which should be standard as we track the syndrome's progress. Despite the detailed timeline and information I reported of my medical history and numerous alarming cardiac symptoms, Dr. Rubenstein failed to perform a standard physical examination. He did not check my legs for swelling or edema, he did not listen to my lungs -- in fact, he did nothing more than put a stethoscope to my chest for 4 seconds before rolling his stool backwards, shrugging his shoulders, and saying "I'm not sure what to tell you - you have a perfect heart." Mind you, this statement was shared despite evidence of regurgitation and premature atrial and ventricular contractions from a previous echocardiogram and 30 day holter monitor, before my symptoms had even progressed. I explained the various ways in which my quality of life has been rapidly declining and asked what next steps were available to me or what other specialists I may want to consider seeing so I can address these concerns, to which he replied that the most likely cause was depression. I waited months for this appointment and paid $60 to be met with gross negligence and no assistance. I implore you to reconsider seeing him as a provider -- it is unfortunately worth the wait to see someone else who will actually show consideration for you and your medical conditions.
