About Dr. Joseph Gunasekera, MD
Joseph Gunasekera, MD, FACC, specializes in cardiology. He is a Fellow of the American College of Cardiology (ACC), an insignia of prestige and quality for those who provide cardiovascular care. Dr Gunasekera received his medical degree from the University of Colombo, Faculty of Medicine in Sri Lanka. He completed both an internship and residency at Cook County Hospital and a fellowship at the University of Wisconsin. He has been board\-certified in internal medicine since 1989 and in cardiovascular disease since 2003.
