While childhood illness can cause some people to want to limit their contact with medical providers, it had the opposite effect on me; I wanted to become one. I saw firsthand the difference that quality medical care can make, and I knew I wanted to provide it. That desire led me first to medical school, and later to earn board certifications in internal medicine, interventional cardiology and general cardiology.
