My dad's recent stay was short-lived and he received excellent care. He stated he had been treated well by all the staff that came his way. I will be forever grateful for him being able to get care personalized to his desires/wishes. Thank you so much.

My dad was sent to this hospital to get open heart surgery. Have to thank the doctor/doctors that took care of him while he was there. They did an amazing job and operation went well. The reason I am giving this place 2 stars are because of the nurse/nurses that are caring for him. I think we all forget that why you guys became a nurse, well at least I think it's because you want to care for people. It is disgusting to say rude things about a patient in front of them and not give them the time and effort to get well. I would wonder if their parents were laying in that bed if they would do the same thing.... Makes you wonder. If you aren't there so care for people pick a different profession please. People in the hospital need care and love. Not being talked about and not caring for them. They don't choice to be there. Life sometimes brings people there. If you can't have the compassion than please choice a different career.

Our family wants to give a shout out to all of the cardiac team members and especially to Dr Wu, Dr Gring, Dr Mobarek, Burke Dickens and all the wonderful nurses and caregivers on the ICU floor for all the excellent care and compassion that was given to our 96 year old mother during her TAVR and pacemaker surgeries in July of 2024. We are all so grateful to all of you for giving her the best care and more quality time to be with her family! UNC REX Heart and Vascular Hospital is truly an amazing hospital and we are blessed to have had this wonderful, caring team! Thank you all from the bottom of our hearts and God bless you all!

I might as well have stayed home. I Recommend a different doctor besides Bruner and her nurse who thought i needed her view and perspective regarding my health as i got dressed and she stood with the door open. Worst first visit ever.

When I arrived at the emergency room with a tachycardia and unilateral pulsatile tinnitus , I encountered an indifferent response from the doctor. Despite my extensive medical background, which I chose not to disclose, I was unsettled by the dismissive attitude and lack of comprehensive care. I expressed particular concern about the unilateral pulsating tinnitus, amd the doctor explained that it was a part of aging. I was aware that it is not a typical aspect of aging. However, my request for scans to rule out serious conditions was disregarded, with the explanation that the scans emit high levels of radiation and carry potential cancer risks. This dismissal of my concerns was deeply troubling. Furthermore, I noted a significant discrepancy in my final systolic BP between my observation and the discharge paperwork, which was concerning. Additionally, I was not referred to a specialist for my tinnitus and was diagnosed with arrhythmia without proper guidance or consultation. It is clear that my care was not handled with the attention it deserved. I was diagnosed with arythmia and to exacerbate the situation, the nurse who discharged me provided me with a letter for immediate return to work. I am extremely dissatisfied with the dismissive attitude of the doctor and the misinformation provided during my visit. I am deeply concerned that the absence of comprehensive medical treatment and the lack of proper follow-up care which significantly contribute to the disparity in health outcomes experienced by minority groups. This issue warrants closer examination. Given the lack of trust in the care I received, I chose not to persist. Trust in my healthcare providers is non-negotiable, and I firmly believe seeking treatment elsewhere is the most appropriate course of action. I am determined to receive the comprehensive care and respect that I deserve.
